Not enough space, clothes dropping on the floor - not my type of thing. This GE works like a tank no problem. The north one is a high end (very high end) front loader and needs the techy to visit it for something or other once a year.
We once had the Appliance store techie tell us, "The reason that this (high cost) LG Refrigerator is sweating on the outside front doors is because you don't have your Air Conditioner down low enough, it "likes" it cold."

My husband said, "are you serious? We don't set our AC to accommodate our appliances."

Manager took it back.

I can really relate to Tops post.
Buyer beware on these modern appliances, that's for sure.

All these similar types has the same circuit board.

"Whirlpool washers, particularly newer Vertical Modular Washer (VMW) models made between 2023 and 2024, have been linked to significant control board failures, often resulting in a continuous drain pump running, inoperable start buttons, and error codes. Mind was made after cutoff so lot more models going to have same problem? Got tired dealing with it knowing it was just going break down again.

I went out in garage and on it’s own the sump pump was running, (glad I caught it with hour or two could been fire hazard setting there running?) the panel was dead, all I could do was unplug it. Ok. I thought maybe just reset? No luck with 15 seconds heard relay click then pump started up. I was pretty discussed with it anyway and after dealing with appliance direct (another mistake) they would not return calls (cause they knew they sold some junk and now way to repair it in timely manner). And yes I had the extended warranty which i called there warranty number which another waste time. Less learned number two 2.

Having speed queen TC5 delivered as this afternoon. Had wonderful experience with Ken & Kerrie’s, done everything over the phone! I’ll be washing tonight! I like this model nothing fancy (especially electronics) dial model that all I want to do it wash clothes, and bonus don’t have that energy water saving crap. 5 year parts and labor warranty which got be better than crap I just got rid of.

From now one I will be doing thorough search on brand to see if it has any known problems. Refrigerator’s IMO also can be linked to several brands and problems? Mistake no 3!

So there 3 mistakes I suggest don’t make when buying appliances. Yep I’m embarrassed, I thought I was smarter than that….

Update

Done cycle wash, this washer is quite, fills up tub, don’t rattle, shake, or vibrate. Washes in 1/3 time of electronic energy saving pos.
Sounds like you had a tough day.

Default New washer

My wonderful reliable 20+ year old washer died. Was in house when I bought house

I went to a few places to compare. At Lowe’s the salesperson asked if I planned to sell my house in a year or so because the whirlpool and others made by whirlpool only last abt a year. Control board goes out. Yikes.

I bought a GE and am happy but I wish I could have gotten an old style with knobs and no control board. Apparently all Even the most simple washers have control boards now

Good luck with your washer. I am hopeful mine lasts more than a year

If we were young and starting up for the first time now, the only wash machine and refrigerator we would buy are the Speed Queen washer/dryer and Subzero refrigerator. Those people know how to build quality, long lasting products.

For what it is worth. Whirlpool is a corporation. The top people are a matter of public record. Simmer down. pos will not get reaction you seek. More like I own several of your products and have been happy with them. Seems there is a known issue with this product. Do you have a solution for me? You can bet if the secretary to the president calls the repair guy. They will send the top guy and re getting an appointment you will be at the top of the list. Didn't note the post date-isn't this old?

Can't help it. We ALL started at an early age. First house, only house before the Villages. It came with a Maytag washer. It was used, came with the house. We used it for 40 years. The people who bought the house said they wanted the washer and dryer. Would not have paid move it. We left it for them had it listed in the contract-no warranty.

Same house came with a Crown Stove wife gotta get self cleaning The guy who installed the new stove. Was careful how he removed the old one. He said you are going to regret this. Igniter in the crown was a pilot light. New electric igniters they burn out
and if I recall when the electricity went out you had to find a match and heat the thermocouple to get the stove to light, New stoves if I recall first one lasted like 4 years. Second one also in contract no warranty.

Nope for me it’s been manufactured known problem since 2023. And still is but don’t know unless it rears it ugly head like mind did in 18 months. Luckily the pos didn’t cost that much. Only get one chance to burn me. I will NOT buy another whirlpool corporation product now. I also have LG and Samsung on my list. So, do I care what others buy? No.

Whirlpool items are, in my humble opinion, not worth the bother. My parents always had a ringer, Maytag washer and a very large family living on a farm. Mom was meticulous and that washer did more work than anything today. It was still working and had not been replaced until after they were married over 50 years. Mom didn't want an automatic but acquiesced when Dad became ill and her time was demanded for his care. Things are not built like that today. With all the concern for our planet and waste why aren't lawmakers legislating quality levels in appliances with broad warranties to force the manufacturers into far less waste and needing to guarantee a product will have a very long life. Maybe it's time for people to stand up and say, "ENOUGH"!
