My 1st thought was...how much to heat the thing. It's beautiful with a lot of the features un-touched BUT it would have been nice to keep that "look" continuing into the kitchen (anyone watch Rehab Addict?) and bathroom(s)!! What they did might be nice but takes away from the character of the rest of the house. Dixon, IL---isn't that near Chi-town?? Brrrr cold is right!!

A lot more than $140,000 to renovate, especially if all the plumbing and electrical needs to be redone. I would turn it into a historic community of condos. We're still working on our money pit after 5 years. We have to finish it before we can move to TV. We need more hands, time, and money.

Couldn't afford the tens of thousands in property taxes even it they gave it to me! If was to move to IL I would Rent.
