I would like to see a new one that is along the lines of the old Reader's Digest [column?]. The title/theme was called"It happens". Readers would send in funny stories about their kids, spouses and past. Maybe someone could help me?

And if I told a story about a pet duck I had and some one said that reminds me of my aunt Ethel and her washing machine I couldn't care less which way the story line went.

I'm brainstorming. Maybe the only rule would be that it be a story we might enjoy, something lighthearted or warming.
Great idea, tomwed. I think it would be a hit!

One thing I wonder if the OP has considered is the number of views those threads get. Since the majority of the views are obviously not from the regular posters, I would think the forum owner(s) and advertisers on here would be quite happy with the "traffic" they generate.

The one point I do understand regarding the OP's post is that they are not necessarily everyone's cup of tea, just like someone else may never engage in political threads or golf threads, for example. But one thing that has happened with THREE WORD and NOTHING is that they have built camaraderie among those regular participants like no other threads on this forum. And I think that's worth something.

Most everyone needs levity now and then and the types of threads mentioned by the OP provide that for both participants and viewers.

Just noticing the posts previous to mine - if this keeps up this thread may end up in "Just for Fun".

Uh oh..............

I have a duck story too! Let's do it. Name suggestions? (And NO bragging...)

You are on the correct on getting negative feedback but

Not From Me.

I respect You.

Great idea you

came up with.

What positive enlightening

threads for fillers?

Once these two

have been removed?

Thank's for Nothing!

Yep, I was noticing how the viewership on the Joke Thread has climbed pretty rapidly as well. Obviously plenty of people are looking for that bit of levity.

Nobody more serious than I, nor afflicted with the "reading obsession" but why would you object to these threads, REALLY ?

This is a public forum, and many threads are set up to complain about something or whatever them mood strikes a poster.

RELAX...if you do not want to read them, as is always pointed out, SKIP OVER.

If you wish more serious talk, the internet is chock full of places to visit.

Seems to me that maybe there is more to your objection than you state ???????

New Thread Coming Soon: How to properly Post an item For Sale in The Classifies. (with All The Information) so nobody has a medical incident. I think by the time people figure out how to get the picture into the ad they forget the other impotent information. (On Porpose). I doubt it is to hurt one certain poster so badly.

To the OP - Since both of those threads have a minuscule number of active posters in them (and almost exclusively the same ones, over and over)...I'm still trying to understand why they bother you so much?

Could you please further explain...your obvious opposition to them?
