Love gator meat... but have been looking for an eatery that doesn't serve it breaded/fried in oil. The best I've tasted was cooked like sausage in kind of a cajun stew... and that was in Hawaii of all places.

Personally, I think that any alligator in The Villages lakes over 3 ft long should be caught (by professionals) and sent to local restaurants. I NEVER liked the idea of Villagers feeding gators..........the reason being many Villagers have small dogs that they CHERISH and they also have grandchildren that visit who could easily lose an arm to a 4ft gator.
........I think that in Florida a person has a GREATER chance of being attacked by a freshwater alligator than by a shark in salt water at a beach.

I wonder why they got rid of the Buffalos at TV. It doesn't seem right to start killing because of what MAY happen. Be careful, keep fifi on a leash.

Not a valid comparison. Sharks out in the ocean vs alligators in our backyard ponds. You remove alligators when they are young and easy to catch. If the ponds are isolated it can take many years before another alligator locates there. Ponds with easy access to marshes are not as easy to control.

Stumpknockers on the withlacoochee river has a gator steak cajun style.
