Another man made paid holiday for government workers. Paid for by all other workers that will be at work today.

Juneteenth is a Federal holiday but is not a Florida state holiday (it is in Maryland)
- USPS, stock market, and (most?) banks will be closed - Florida state offices will be open - Local/City offices in Florida may be closed but not likely Another post mentioned a Disney employee earning time and a half for working today so some private employers treat the day as a holiday as well.

Note that there are 11 Federal holidays:
New Year's Day: January 1st. Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Third Monday in January. Washington's Birthday: Third Monday in February. Memorial Day: Last Monday in May. Juneteenth National Independence Day: June 19th. Independence Day: July 4th. Labor Day: First Monday in September. Columbus Day: Second Monday in October. Veterans Day: November 11th. Thanksgiving Day: Fourth Thursday in November. Christmas Day: December 25th. There is no mail delivery on any of these days. Also, there is no Federal holiday called Presidents Day, a fact that the national media doesn't seem to understand. |

You might miss some junk mail but the bills, the bills always come. We all eventually have to pay the bills.

Gives us a reason to keep flags flying between Flag Day and Fourth of July 🤩

Odd that the third Monday in February will never fall on February 22, Washington's actual birthday. It will also never fall on February 12, Lincoln's birthday. It's almost as if the date was intentionally chosen to be between the two as a way to honor both.

It seems to be like asking - "What do you think of the price of tea in China?"

- "The Federal holiday known as Presidents' Day" is inaccurate - "Washington's birthday" on any day other than February 22 is inaccurate - "The third Monday in February that the Federal govt observes as Washington's Birthday, some states observe as Presidents' Day, and others don't observe at all" is accurate but far too long for a name.
