There is a group of health professionals that I believe are the most overworked and underpaid in the industry. From LPN's to RN's, to Certified Nurse Practitioners to Nurse Anesthesiologists, and every nursing specialty in between, these men and women are so overworked that many times they skip lunch breaks and bathroom breaks. When we are in pain in a strange hospital room in the middle of the night, they are our angels of mercy. They deal with us in our most embarrassing situations with kindness and patience. To so many nurses, their job is a calling, not just a paycheck. As a pharmacist, I have dealt with thousands of nurses over the years and find them all to be special. So....thank you!! You have been very much appreciated by me over the last 35 years.

My husband played Santa for The Villages' Nurses Club Christmas Party this past Christmas. He joked about the difficult job of having nurses sit on his lap. But honestly, we heard some memorable stories and met some great people. Nurses, we salute you!!

BarryRX: That is a sentiment that I have expressed time and time again over the years. Good nursing made the diference between a good and bad recovery. Nurses truy are angels of mercy

Nurses are underpaid and overworked, IMHO. Most nurses display admirable compassion, skill and patience. I admire them greatly.

Just spent 23 days in the Villages Hospital. Heart attack while in dialysis. Mind is a total blank for the first 4-5 days. Got released today but have to do outpatient dialysis 3 times a week for a while. All the nurses from top of the chain to the bottom were simply "angels of mercy". My wife is one so I do have my own biased opinion.

Well, what a pleasant surprise to find this post. As nurses, most of us do feel a calling to do what we do. So thanks isn't what we work for, but how wonderful it is to hear, and so appreciated. I'll have a little "lift" in my step on my next shift
