Default OakForrest? Private Way? Not a thur way anymore?

Ok,maybe I do not understand what has happened at Oak Forrest, My understanding is that the board members voted to close this street to us as a through way, it is now a private street.

I also was told (fact or romour) that there are 3 board members who live in that area and the vote was approved to make this street a private street? You will be fined if caught travelling all the way down it. ($123.00 fine and 3 points on your license)

If this is the case, then I think if the road is private that the residents, should pay all repairs etc . Does that mean if that is private they (residents) are longer Villager's? And while we are on the subject, I want my street private too!

There is several petitions going around to amend this .

What do you all think of this?

There are a couple of other posts on the subject of Oak Forest. Go to Search and put in Oak Forest and look at some of the comments and feelings on the subject.

As noted previously in this thread, there are at least three threads on this subject and the decision, in the words of Commissioner Mast, has created a Pandora's Box. Folks will have an opportunity to share their views with the commissioners at their regular Board of County Commissioners meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, 7-22-08, 5 PM at Colony Cottage Rec Center.
