Reportedly, Obama's first international trip will be to Canada.

I wonder how I can get "Canadian Snowbirds" added to the agenda? It would be so wonderful if the USA would allow Canadian and British retirees to stay here 365 days a year, instead of the current 183 days.

Bare, great idea. I have decided to write my Congressman and Senator to say that is something that is long overdue and should be addressed. I realise that there are lots of more urgent matter Obama and the Congress have to address, but allowing Canadian and British retirees to stay in the USA 365 days year would be (it seems to me) a fairly simple bill to address and starting the new administration and Congress with a couple of easy and successful bills might help change the feelings to government and that can't hurt. Please admins don't move this to the Political forum, I'm afraid of it (lol).

It would also put extra money into the U.S. economy to have foreign retirees around all year long spending money shopping, dining out, etc.
