I'd call the local Veterans Official. They are extremely helpful and eager to get you the answers you seek. I know they have an office here in The Villages. That would be your best source.

Heard from the Republican (Mass) candidate in the debate talking about Tri-care.

He served for 20+ years in military and from what I heard its going to effect all military personnel, including those retired having to find other ways to get healthcare and it wont be cheap.

Days of the best health system in the world coming to an end soon.

I'd get as close to the facts as I could rather than listening to a candidate (either party) who may be repeating the party line. He may be spot-on, but wouldn't you want to know for sure. On this particular point I'd contact the VA. If anyone has an idea it would be them.

If you read the bill as currently written, Tri-care is replaced by the public option. The only plan not impacted is the plan for our elected officials. It's not good enough for them, only us. Now as stated, they are still working the final details and anything can be changed. However when we see the final version it will be to late. They are working to eliminate a forced public option, but my guess would be that any plan currently paid for by the government (Tri-care, Medicare) will fall into what they want for a public option. Once this is passed there will be amendment after amendment until it morphs to what they want anyway.

Go read the bill.

Default I would think that no matter who you call they can only say

"I don't know". The bill is still a work in progress or as some might call it a bullet on the way to the target and the politicians are trying to paint it the colors they favor!

No matter what is read or heard, it would be yesterday's version. The only fact as atated above is your health care today is the best you will ever have HAD!

There are currently two Bills. One passed by the House and one passed by the Senate. The two Bills are different in several areas. A committee from House & Senate will meet and attempt to come up with one Bill, which will then have to be passed by the House and Senate. This Bill will then go to the President for his signature or veto. Until the Bill is ready to go to the President no one can say for sure what is or will be in it. Up to that point everything is speculation.

BTW, the best medical care is provided in France. The most costly is provided in the U.S.
