Default A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely
to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my wellbeing.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You
have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your
tone of voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you,
and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if
something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you
can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so. ALWAYS!

Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of
them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's
critters.

Now please pass this on to other pet owners. We do not have to wait for
Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and
has four legs!

How very thoughtful and appropriate.

We are first order dog people....meaning ours has the run of the house as one of our no longer here children. As much a family member as children.....

Thanx for sharing it. I intend to pass it along to friends and family.

Thanks Johnny. I just wish that every pet owner could treat their pets with respect. The idea of all the discarded animals living in animal shelters and being euthanized just breaks my heart.

Beautiful Johnny.

It is so unbelievable how many people dont have a clue about these commandments or how to take care of an animal. I always tell my grandkids, they cannot speak for themselves so you have to be sure that they have everything they need to be happy.

Dogs are so loyal, it is just horrifying to me how many throw away pets are at the shelters. People bring in their old sick dogs because they dont want to take care of them anymore, it is so heartbreaking.

How true. I spent countless enjoyable hours teaching my Boxer all those little things that helped make him a great dog and a great friend. But I learned far more from him than he ever learned from me. They ask so little and give so much.
Hard to understand why anyone would not treat their pets with respect.

Thanks for the post Johnny,

BG

Thanks Johnnie. As an animal lover I was very touched by the Ten Commandments. We have a beautiful beagle named Elsie and she is the sunshine of our lives. It is looking doubtful we will ever be grandparents so we shower all our affection on our furry friend. How lucky we are to have these wonderful creatures in our lives!

Thanks for that post JohnnyM. And if my dog could type and understand what he was typing, he would also thank you.

Johnny thanks!!! My 16 yr. old blind and deaf cocker, Bouv (short for Bouvier) has found an amazing ability to find her way using her nose. She is such a happy sweet girl, wagging her tail constantly. My newest family member is 11 yrs. old, adopted last year. Lila. There is a wonderful site for memorials. Our last big loss, was Bubba (Bouvs son). Here is his online memorial, a wonderful site for grieving pet lovers. http://petmemorials.youns.com/memorial.asp?ID=1802

Thanks Johnny, that is so beautiful.

I tell everyone that no matter how old your pet is--it has the mentality of a 1 year old.

Such unconditional love--I KNOW there is is a Doggie and Kitty Heaven.

RR

What a beautiful tribute.

What a beautiful boy
