I think favoring the death penalty for protesting is an exaggeration based on emotion, and very few if any thinking people would actually favor it. But in cases like the ones mentioned above, where thankfully such a situation did NOT arise, and considering that the people protesting knew that they'd be stopping traffic and possibly hindering rescue vehicles--what WOULD the appropriate consequence under the law be if a death actually occurred and was attributable to the actions of the protestors?

i know that area VERY well. the course is so far out of the way on a road very few know about. these people knew what they were doing, and should face stiff sentences. 1st place i'd look is Wesleyan over on High Street, then University of Hartford. they have video, let them be prosecuted

The police took care of the situation right away. The protest only delayed the finish of the game. Give Tom Kim credit for a 10 foot putt (after the commotion) to send the golf game into a playoff. This was what fans were hoping for - more golf. At the time, the television announcers never made a comment as to what the protest was about.

The live television broadcast did a good job of NOT covering the idiots protesting to the extent possible, and never showed a replay. Giving them live broadcast time on a popular national event would only encourage other idiots to repeat their actions. Friggin social media on the other hand put up the video of the idiots actions for everyone to watch over and over. Social media can be a very bad thing.

I applauded the guy for punching him and I don't think it's barbaric. That's probably the only penalty that he'll get. I believe the problem is the court system is way too lenient with all of these protesters. They need to start putting them in jail and make an e ample of them. Then and only then will this BS stop.

Totally agree. I just watched the local evening news at our northern home, which is only about 75 miles from where yesterday’s protest occurred. It was sickening. The protesters, all from NY and DC, were all released quickly from prison after posting a very small bond. They were all interviewed and allowed to state their platform and reasons for breaking the law and causing a disruption. They are being given rockstar treatment and all said they will keep doing it because it’s well worth it given the consequences for their actions. Totally disgusting. Why are they going to stop this BS when they get treated like celebrities with little to no consequences?
