I wish he would stay in retirement. He is spouting off about this being a "once in a century" financial crisis. Wall Street will most likely be a disaster tomorrow. Lehman is going down the tubes. This is the scariest time I have ever seen.
Remember when we had to hide under our school desks in case of nuclear attack? Maybe our sorry government will come up with something similar to help us get through this. Greenspan and his policies helped put us where we are right now. Go away, Mr Greenspan. We know how bad things are and your remarks don't enlighten us or make things better. Maybe Sarah taking us into war with Russia will help.
Sorry for the rant. I have been reading all the financial news for tomorrow and am not a happy camper.

I'm sure Greenspan must realize that his public comments make things worse and not better. It is just wrong and irresponsible. I hate it when the media grab on to a "gloom and doom" comment. It just makes everyone panic and things get worse.

Since he retired I am sure he no longer gets the financial intelligence he was being supplied with prior to his retirement. He is now giving opinions which because of his previous position are listened to more than they probably should. SO i agree with Samhass.......Shuddap already. Book or no book. shaddap!

You can bet some publisher said to him " write a book and than say something scandalous to the media and you'll make a ton of money",
