I would be hesitant to bang anything on the edge of the counter, especially if it is a laminate counter. You could chip the counter edge. Use the edge of a concrete sidewalk instead.

I peel the label off, and then I whack it really hard on the corner of the counter. The container should burst open enough to enable you to get to the contents. Good luck!

Seriously, anyone old enough to live here that does not know how to open a tube of biscuits should be getting ready for servants to bring breakfast in bed or up early to get showered and dressed to dine out for breakfast.
