Same here, born and raised in Michigan, what a beautiful place....I married a girl from Ohio and have been living in Ohio (behind enemy lines) for 30 years. When people ask me where I am from I say Michigan. I lived 25 years in Michigan and 30 in Ohio so I guess I am kind of a "grandfathered" in Ohioan but I will always be from Michigan! I hope dear sweet Gracie shows me some grace for my Michigan roots!

Great video. We've always wanted to get up that way to Michigan, especially tour around the upper peninsula of Michigan and then take the ferry to Mackinac (pronounced Mackinaw) Island where cars are not allowed. One of these days, for sure.

When driving WEST we always are BELOW Michigan on route 80, but recently we've said next time we will go north and around.......

The only Great Lake we've seen is Lake Erie and it was amazing; looked just like the ocean. Would love to see all of the Great Lakes.

Strangely enough, during the past decade while doing genealogy research I discovered that I have hundreds upon hundreds of cousins all over Michigan from Ann Arbor northward..........descendants of the Italians who came over in the late 1800's and the French Canadians as well.

The reason we'd like to see the upper peninsula is that from photos we've been shown, it is reminiscent of Maine's little fishing villages.
Now that we are retired, it's on the agenda for future trips.

Thanks for sharing the video.......

p.s. I just typed in "Upper Peninsula of Michigan" tourism and the same PURE MICHIGAN WEBSITE popped up with wonderful information for vacation planning...........thanks again. My memory was right about all the light houses on the upper peninsula. Looks like great boating as well.

We had neighbors here from Lansing Michigan who would go across to Canada for the greatest linguini with clam sauce (we heard that over and over again)......

We watched them doing the kayak portion in Harbor Springs.

The small towns like Maine will really be found in Lower Northern MI ie Traverse City, Elk Rapids, Alden, Central Lake (Home of the original Brownwood owned by the Morse family)Boyne City, Charlevoix, Petoskey and Harbor Springs.

Beautiful area and yes you need to see Lake MI.

Our golf cart has a Great Lakes decal in Blue on the windshield and even that is beautiful.
