Read an interesting article entitled "Shame on Jane" by Michael Benge, a former prisoner in North Vietnam. Although Jane Fonda may have thought she was doing good, there are always unintended consequences. The bottom line is it appears an American citizen was brutally tortured as a result of her visit.

To me that was inexcusable and her citizenship should have been revoked while she spent the rest of her life in hard labor.

Lots of people protested the war without giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Mine!! I was scheduled to go back in 1975. Do to the heroic efforts of Jane Fonda and thousands of other protesters the final Americans were pulled out by 30 April 1975.

She brought national attention to the horrors being committed by us to the living rooms of Americans and it helped to put pressure on the US to leave their country.

Torturing anyone is horrible, but worse is 55,000 Americans died over there while we collectively did nothing.

Regardless of your opinion of our participation in that war, Men were dying, maimed, and taken prisoner and tortured. All while she was in Hanoi being used as propaganda spokesperson by Vietnam.
