This is pure BS.
Another section asked me for a lot of information. I do not even have an Apple account and I checked all my credit cards so no one hacked into my credit accounts somehow and created one. This is pretty clever though. They get you when you fill out the information they request to verify your account. Quote:

Someone had hacked my debit card last year and bought some kind of computer game but it was never delivered as other information was needed to get it send to a proper e-mail address. They did have a small amount pending on that debit card for a while until I e-mailed the Redwood City game creator to get it straightened out. |

I have received some kind of communications from people in Lagos since 1992 or so. Snail mail letters, then e-mails and now it seems like sophisticated Facebook scams.

Don't click on anything. Even if the subject mentions someone you know. Verify with your friend but not by e-mail. Scams and spammers are everywhere. Be cautious.

I've received several emails recently from scammers pretending to be Royal Bank or Wells Fargo or Pay Pal or Bank of America. Supposedly my accounts have been recently been compromised. Except I don't have accounts there.
Please be very careful. Sadly, there are lots of scammers on the Internet trying to take advantage of innocent people.

Here is the biggest clue that it is a scam. Never ever would there be a word before Apple.com such as iforgot or applied and that goes for all corp websites. It is alwaws something like Apple.com/xxx

I love the one letter that looks like it comes from Toyota, (it doesn't), and claims I need to extend my warranty. I have received this letter 5 times for about one year.
Talked to Toyota salesman and he says it is a hoax. I hope they have fun spending postage with this baloney letter. I also love the pop-up ads, that claim to be a Microsoft partner and you need to download something, to protect your PC. What a croc!!! People try to instill fear as their basis for scamming. It's sad that some people fall for it.
