That is correct Gov Cuomo. It is up to me, not the almighty government to determine what is right for me. Yea, I know all the haters will come out of the woodwork and state what a selfish ahole I am, but I just simply fervently believe in PERSONAL accountability and responsibility. I suppose it is my independent spirit or perhaps my zest for liberty. I just want the government to do their jobs, not mine. Get this country rolling again and stay the hell out of the way. Allow individuals to be just that and pursue life, liberty, and happiness and stop promising that to everyone. That is our own job.

You really do not believe that BS, do you? If you don’t leave the home, how can you be infected? Some more NY BS!

I think we all know that these people got the virus from somewhere outside their home. They were either "out" before they quarantined or else they went out. You don't get it from living in NYC.

You may be on to something. HVAC systems in a building, like a giant cruise ship could be the culprit. Not that many single family homes within the city.....I don't think.

Density is likely a major factor, I think. New Yorkers and residents of any city living in close quarters with others are very vulnerable. That is why Miami Dade has more serious problems that other places in Florida where we are more spread out. Outsiders and fear mongers suggested The Villages would be a hot spot but we generally live well apart from our neighbors, only coming together for activities or socializing, not in the day-to-day business of living. Live close: breath others' air. Live farther away: breath fresh air. Lesson: density can be deadly.

He was on Colbert last night. It basically comes down to the personal habits of individuals: washing hands, masks, Distancing. I think that combined with dense population, many family members in one dwelling. I’m sure we hear more on this.

Yes most of their Covid developed in nursing home. Know why? It is because this ignoramus was sending diagnosed positive into nursing homes to recover or get back to the nursing home where they were a resident. This all on Cuomo. He put into law that nursing homes had to accept Covid patients. What kind of genius would force nursing homes to accept Covid positive patients when the entire population are elderly with preexisting conditions.

Staying home does not equal isolation.

Covid 19 is spread by fecal virus-laden aerosol plumes! Virus particles linger in restrooms airborne for hours, waiting to infect the next person's respiratory system.

Think about the spread in nursing homes, prisons, ships, and multifamily households. Your viewers need to know it’s more than just washing hands.

Governor Cuomo talked about 66% Covid-19 admissions are from people who stayed home. New Yorkers live in close quarters and in apartment buildings that share plumbing supply lines. Covid-19 fecal fume transmission makes sense.

Bloomberg article explains transmission.

"novel coronavirus is shed in the feces of infected people"

"...microbes...are inhaled"

"live virus particles in stool specimens indicates a fecal-oral route for coronavirus, which may be why it’s caused outbreaks on cruise ships...Diamond Princess..."

Here is a presentation that identifies the oral-fecal method of transmission.

The inhaled virus-laden fecal plume transmission must be told! You can handle it.

Hey, stay out of public restrooms!

I agree. Our granddaughter who is a line producer for one of the big three National News Networks is doing her job from her Manhattan apartment...……….However, they are getting take out. I still am not getting food from outside our home that is prepared. I am even suspicious of fresh fruits like blueberries and strawberries...who handled them and when?

Don't jump on me. I have the protective instinct built into almost every mother in the universe. I keep telling her she is damned dumb to get take out. She makes more money than any one in our family ever did. She is respectful to me, but she doesn't listen.

Don’t forget the mayor.

Few do, once they get out and especially in college.

Cuomo: 66 percent of new coronavirus NY cases at home - New York Daily News
Reading both the lines and between the lines:
The article says about 25% of those who came down with the disease were in nursing homes, retirement centers, assisted living facilities, and jails.

As for the 66% that are retired or unemployed, bear in mind what things are like in New York City and the cities across the River in New Jersey. A LOT of those people could stay at home and maybe do stay at home, but live with extended families in cramped apartments, and not all of those family members stay at home. Many have essential jobs, but then have to come home to their families, including grandma and grandpa. Many of the younger people may have the virus, but not have symptoms, and because they haven’t been tested, they may pass the virus on to older people in their households without realizing it. The older people get sick and have to be hospitalized. Until all contacts possible are tested, we won’t know.

Meanwhile, most people in The Villages live alone or with one person in a house, rather than an apartment home. Everyone has access to the luxury of space, fresh air, exercise (walking). We get upset about people not keeping six feet of distance, but compare that to twelve people in the Bronx living day and night in a two bedroom apartment with 700 square feet and four essential workers coming and going. This is why there are so few cases of the virus in The Villages and so few deaths, even though our age and medical histories would lead people to expect many more cases.

We should count our blessings. Probably more than 66% of the cases here are in the group in question. But consider. So far, 78 cases in The Villages out of a population of 130,000. If it were 1%, that would be 1,300 cases. We would need SEVENTEEN TIMES as many cases to equal that number, and that is the number sick, not dead. Off the top of my head, about 0.06% of people in The Villages have been diagnosed. By contrast, on average, 0.1% of the people who catch the flu every year die of it.

This must be one of the safer places to be in the whole country.

Como and De Blasio should be brought up on murder charges
If the patients were sent to proper medical facilities like Javits Center.Central Park Field hospital
USNS Comfort Medical Ship instead patents were directed over to their crony connected nursing homes
They would have had a fighting chance.
At the nursing homes the bill is paid by the government 100 %
The other facilities no one would have profited is was all about $$$$$$
