Default Shuttle launch

Went to the shuttle launch on Saturday may 31st.
Here is some of the crowd waiting for the launch.

Here's some more pics. I may have more after I get my film developed, but they'll have to be pretty spectacular shots. BTW -- DickY has managed to have the ONLY pic I have liked of me in the past 5 years. Guess from now on the rule will be the back of my head only.

Folks, if you haven't seen a shuttle launch, I would highly recommend it. There is something inspiring when you think that Americans have built this incredible piece of machinery that is being used by so many nations. You end up with a great pride in America and, hopefully, a little humility in realizing what man can do when there is a desire to truly accomplish something.

Thanks Dicky and Red, great photo's almost like seeing it happen.....
I had every intention of going over to the Calumet Grove pool to swim and see the launch.I was told that Calumet pool is a great place to see launches.I took Bosun for a walk around 4ish, came in and changed into my swimsuit. The phone rang so I sat down on the couch , talked a bit and hung up. I sat for a moment....that moment turned into an almost 2 hour nap....needless to say I missed the launch :edit: :edit:

A spot in Titusville. We were trying to find the Spaceview Park but were unsuccessful. So, we just drove til we found an empty parking spot along the water and stayed there. It was actually a super spot with some great people surrounding us.
