Default Snakes

We have snakes in Texas too and I am DEATHLY afraid of them. I don't care if they are non-poisonous and 1/2" long. I can handle cockroaches, spiders, mice, etc. - BUT NO SNAKES. I went to the feed store and asked what to get. I don't know what the name of the product was but if memory serves me right, it contained racoon urine. The sales clerk to me that "to snakes the smell of racoon anything means danger. And when they pick up the scent (which they can smell from miles away) they don't even come near." She told me to wear gloves, then put some on a cotton ball, sponge, or whatever and place around the premiter of my house and garage. I did this and have not seen a snake now in almost 2 years. I plan to repeat this method when I permanently move to TV in December 2012. Believe me, you do want to wear gloves, whatever was in the bottle (if in fact it was racoon urine) was the most foul smelling ordor I've ever give my nose the unpleasent experience of.

I just wonder how those folks who sell it got the racoon to go in the bottle?

I wondered that myself. I don't know about you but I don't think I could go in a bottle, especially one with a little hole!
