I thought this was good information by GoodLife:

Terrifying video shows how a single cough can spread a cloud of coronavirus across supermarket that lingers for minutes – The Sun

Horrific video shows coronavirus particles from runners can infect you even if you’re 2m away – The Sun

Thanks Some people think I should be arrested for posting from a "non approved" source. AS I noted in my thread, the supermarket cough simulation was produced by a team of scientists at 2 Helsinki universities. What was interesting was that this team actually analyzed spread of virus from a dry cough, not a sneeze, hence the particles are smaller than water droplets from a sneeze and floated longer, spread further. These simulations are all over the mainstream news now, were played on Martha Macallum show last night, she actually asked Dr Fauci about them but he hadn't seen these particular simulations but did not discount them as inaccurate.

As I noted in last post on that thread, I haven't set foot inside any building other than my home for 3 weeks. If I absolutely had to I would wear a mask and a face shield.

And to think some of the self centered entitled took my rant about people needing to wear masks as an intrusion into their lifestyle.....

Confirmation bias is a powerful thing, once people have decided something in their head they will perform Olympic level gym gymnastics to avoid logic

Anti masker: They don't work against virus particles!

Masker: Doctors and Nurses wear them

Anti masker: They still get sick!

Masker: Only a few, all of them would be sick if masks don't work

Anti masker: The CDC told us not to use them

Masker: They were afraid of shortages, now they say use them

and so on reduction ad adsurdum

Only problem with this computer generated cartoon is that it does not take into account any outside variables. Also it takes no logical thought about transmission. If this simulation was only accurate say 40% of the time the human race would be possibly cut in half at this time. If it could be transmitted as easily as these "simulations" show The Villages would already have had an infection rate that would be greater than any where in the world and bodies would be piling up in the streets.

Yes it could happen and I am in no way saying we should not be diligent and safe but to put out this kind of highly unlikely out come out in public does nothing but spread fear and illogical thoughts among a very gullible public. Could it happen yes! Will it happen, probably not! Be safe, follow guidelines and help each other.

This simulation is not a "cartoon" It's a serious attempt by a group of scientists from various fields of expertise using a supercomputer to simulate spread of virus from a dry cough in a supermarket.

The project involves around 30 researchers, whose specialisations include fluid dynamics, aerosol physics, social networks, ventilation, virology and biomedical engineering. The research is being carried out in conjunction with Essote (the joint municipal authority for social and health services in South Savo), which proposed the research project, as well as infectious diseases specialists from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.

"The next two weeks are extraordinarily important,Dr Birx said. "This is the moment to do everything that you can on the president's guidelines. This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store and not be going to the pharmacy – but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe.”

I guess Dr Birz is spreading fear and illogical thoughts to a gullible public.

sneeze cloud poster: Here's a simulation of sneeze/cough cloud in a supermarket

Anti sneeze clouder: It's garbage from The Sun!

sneeze cloud poster: The Sun just reported on it, simulation was done by 30 scientists of various expertise at Helsinki University using a super computer. Heres a link to them

Anti sneeze clouder: I don't care! This is illogical fear mongering to a gullible public!

sneeze cloud poster: Dr Birx of CDC warned us to stay away from supermarkets as much as possible.

Anti sneeze clouder: I don't care! I'm going to supermarkets and I am not sick!

sneeze cloud poster: (Clint Eastwood voice) Feeling lucky kid?

Sticks and stones!!! A lot of assumptions made about peoples beliefs or not beliefs. Nothing was said that this was bunk research, just that it is a what "could" happen not what is happening. Maybe gullible is the wrong word, how about a public that is highly susceptible to panic due to incomplete information.

Sigh

There are currently 18,000 confirmed cases in Florida. 1,365 of those are travel related. 3,783 of those are contact with a confirmed case. 994 are travel and contact with confirmed case.

That leaves 11,306 confirmed cases that are of unknown origin. How do you think these people caught the virus? Probably wasn't from sitting on the couch at home sucking down a beer.

Here is CDC on how virus is transmitted.

Person-to-person spread

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.
Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.
These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
Some recent studies have suggested that COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms.
Maintaining good social distance (about 6 feet) is very important in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Spread from contact with contaminated surfaces or objects

It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about
this virus.

How Coronavirus Spreads | CDC

So we virus particles can travel in the air and infect you, the scientists in Helsinki were very smart to analyze cough clouds and show they can travel further than a sneeze cloud especially indoors. They are doing science, not fear mongering.

When's the last time a national health official told you to stay out of grocery stores etc as much as possible? Dr Birx sees a lot more data about this virus than we do, and she didn't make the recommendation because she is clueless.
