Default Software can tell your age from your picture

I found this fun tool on the phys.org site.

Microsoft age-estimate tool unleashed real-time virality

Try playing with Microsoft’s newly released Face detection API’s through a webpage called how-old.net.

How Old Do I Look?

See how close it comes to guessing your age by examining your picture. It was off 2 years to the good when I tried it. It said 19. I wish. Have fun!

Everyone looks their age upon close inspection. Some look good for their age, others not so good. As a single man I always get a laugh when women claim in their online dating profiles to look younger than their ages. They never do, regardless of what their friends tell them.

I'm only 7. And they didn't even check my brain.

As the software becomes more accurate, you could use it to do these things. Say you have a picture of yourself but can’t remember the year it was taken. Use it to estimate your age and then extrapolate the approximate date. Quite often we meet people and then wonder how old they might be. If you have a picture of them on your smart phone, use the app to find their age. Marketing people such as The Villages may use similar technology to observe the ages of people at recreational activities to fine tune things.

What are some other uses that may be used in the future?

Okay, so I tried it and it guessed 46. I'm 67. My boyfriend got 88. LOL.
