Default Christmas at Disney World

My wife and I are going to Disney this week to see the Xmas decorations. Any suggestions of where we should go to see the better ones?

Try Xmas town, if that doesn't do it go to Christmas town (Main St.)

The best light show is in Hollywood Studios. I suspect it is there as it seems to me that Hollywood is the least interesting park IMO. But, if you want to see it from the comfort of your home, here is a taste of last year's presentation

Have not done Disney @ Christmas BUT I do have a list for when I do get to do it!

hot chocolate/hot fudge sundae @ Giradelli's in Downtown Disney is a MUST; a sandwich @ Earl of Sandwich is not bad either!
"Downtown Disney is decorated each year and Christmas music is played for “Festival of the Seasons.” The event includes special entertainment, including holiday carolers; Latin, jazz and pop performances of holiday songs; costumed stilt walkers and street performers; and a lively holiday dance party with deejay." [http://www.mousesavers.com/walt-disn...-and-parties/]

going into the parks? check out this site:
Christmas at Disney World and Holiday Highlights - wdwinfo.com

and this - schedules include events not usually on the daily park schedule but lots of fun:
Walt Disney World Live Entertainment

don't miss visiting the individual resorts!:
Disney World resorts deck their halls for the holidays

Holiday Decorations Around the World

and don't forget to at least take a ride or a stroll around the grounds of Gaylord Palms:

After the light show at Hollywood Studios take the boat to Epcot to see the fireworks. They have added more than usual for the holidays.

What are Xmas decorations?
Are they similar to Christmas decorations?

Agree with Osborne lights in Hollywood Studios. Also, the magic Kingdom all lit up is breath taking. Be sure to go see it.

Thanx all. A lot of good suggestions. There also a lot of good videos on utube.

some of the best decorations are in the resort hotels. You can visit the ones on the monorail loop fairly easily. Others are served by buses (which will be a bit more time consuming. Note that parking at the resort hotels is generally limited to their guests.

Universal also has holiday decorations up. They have balloons from the Macy's parade in their parades (Universal Studios) and Grinchmas (Islands of Adventure).

Is the highlighted sentence a recent change in policy? We have frequently visited other resorts for gift shopping and dining. It will be so disappointing if we cannot do that any more!

We go every year and tour outside the 4 parks. Go to the Magic Kingdom and at the ticket and transportation center take the resorts monorail and see the displays at Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian (no good this year due to construction) and then take one of the launches to Wilderness Lodge. Only cost is to park at the Magic Kingdom lot. Then drive to Animal Kingdom lodge and park there to see the decorations in the lodge. The Christmas trees and decorations are spectacular at all of these. There are also decorations at the Boardwalk and Caribbean resorts. Lots to see without paying park fees. We are annual pass holders and do get to see the park decorations but we like to take this trip to the areas outside the parks.

We are also annual pass holders so visiting all the parks and parking is no problem.
