There is P in the lake, just not in the spelling.

Hi Barefoot .... I think you Canucks (and the Brits, too) speak and write pretty good English for foreigners. I don't recall ever hearing, on the telephone, an option for "press 3 for Canadian, press 4 for Cockney".
......
but, are you folks EVER going to get back your Stanley Cup????

You are a good person Borjo. But there are some with dyslexia and some that are good spellers. Some are athletes and some are not. Some are smarter than others and some are kinder than others and some people have everybody fooled and some people have nobody fooled.

We is what we is.
That's our Gracie! Love it as much as if I 'done' it myself. lol

If that's your biggest problem.........
At this age who cares?

Ridiculous responses make me annoyed.

Do you tell your grandchildren "who cares if you can spell?"

No, but we are not your grandchildren to whom you are complaining about spelling/grammar errors. We're a bunch of folks who just want to talk to each other online. I personally don't think it matters if we misspell a few words here or there, use the wrong form of a word, say "seen" instead of "saw," etc...

As I age I find myself both smarter and dumber in many ways. Many years ago when I got my Masters I was very puffed up with myself because I was told that they were going to use this 100+ page thesis of mine in the library as a reference for other students. I was filled with my own worth and perfection until I went to look at it in its published form in the library and saw that I had written CONCLISION instead of Conclusion at the end. I was so mortified!! There was no way to get it off the shelf at that point. It just proved my humanity to me and taught me some humility. I learned not to judge, lest I be judged. A very good lesson for me.

Most of us have learned similar lessons in life. I don't in anyway mean to say spelling and grammar are not important --but to most of us on TOTV---we are just "talking" to each other not writing our Master's Thesis. It is what it is.

And just "talking to each other" is a great way to meet new friends ... based on similar values and opinions. Thanks to the Admins for providing such a wonderful Website!

It would be those errors not these errors

What used to get me: "Explain" and "Explanation." I always wondered if the "i" was supposed to be taken out.

Also, the word magic was difficult for me because I lived next door to a Majic Market for about 25 years. Once the "j" got firmly implanted in my brain it was hard to get it out.

Tolerate: For some reason I keep thinking it should be "tollerate".

Double letters or not: Super or supper, diner or dinner, desert or dessert. Sometimes it makes me stop and think.
