Woke? The movie surely did keep me awake!!! LOL.

I don't support this "woke" movement at all. The only "woke" aspect of this movie is changing the tomboy character Anybodys to a transgender. Spielberg cast actors who have Latin ancestry for the Sharks. Brownface was not used in this film to transform white actors to play the Sharks. If that is considered "woke", I guess I just don't understand the "woke" movement.

Excellent movie
I don't speak any Spanish other than "Hola. ¿Cómo estás? I understood what was being conveyed by the splendid acting and the fact that much of the Spanish was translated to English by the characters. Anita prompted the characters to "speak English" in many of the scenes that had a few Spanish passages. I feel as though I missed absolutely nothing by not understanding the Spanish that was spoken in the movie.
