Question Suggestions for mailing presents please?!?

At this time of year I am sure many of us are scurrying around shopping, wrapping and sending gifts to our loved ones at home. Altho I know the options USPS, UPS, Fed Ex, etc. I was wondering with all the great ideas that come from fellow TOTV'ers if you could tell a Mother (me hehe) who went "alittle over board" on buying gifts, baking all my son' favorite goodies etc., which would be the best way to go. At this rate, I will need to rent a truck to bring them up to NY .
Of course I am interested in the most economical way, but also if its easier to just have them pick them up at the house I like that idea too.
Thank you in advance for your help. I am planning another day of baking, so if anyone gets hungry today.....c'mon over!!

Not sure what you baked or if it is perishable as that would be part of the decision. UPS will pick up at your house. I am sure FedX would as well although I have not had them do that. The lowest cost way may be those post office boxes they advertise as if it fits it is a fixed price. Again the how long it would take question and what you baked.

So when are you baking again? We have to be close, I have a rental home in Poinciana and live in Sunset pointe. And the homes are less then 5 minutes apart by cart. Maybe if I go outside and sniff the air, my nose will take me there.

The Postal service's priority mail flat rate shipping works great for me - if it fits in the box, it goes for the standard rate for that box size no matter what the weight is, so it takes the guesswork out of the cost of shipping; and the USPS will send you the boxes at no charge; I send lots of stuff to my children and to business colleagues; and since it is priority mail USPS will pick it up for free from your house. If you don't have your own postage meter, you can print the postage label out online. It's very economical. I also use FEd Ex and UPS, but I think that that flat rate boxes are a great choice. www.usps.com for all of the details.

Flat rate boxes can be more expensive if the weight is not a lot. You can check what a package will cost at http://www.usps.com/

Thank you so much everybody! I thought of the flat rate boxes, but I have so many presents, and I heard the boxes are not that big, so I guess that wouldnt work for me. I thought if I pulled up at the post office with all my boxes, the people in line would be less than pleased with me hehe . A friend told me the one on 301 isnt very busy, so I may tackle that when they open tomorrow. If that doesnt work, I will call UPS. I cant print out the labels, so I figured the UPS man might not be too happy with me either if he had to fill out a form for each box hehe . Next year....I think gift certificates sound alot easier hehe .
I still would like to make him his favorite appetizers i.e. meatballs, wings, dips etc. which would all be perishable. I have some styrofoam boxes and wonder if those freezer packs would work if I sent them in overnight mail? Or....I could send him the recipes haha .
Thanks again for your help!
I2ride....could you smell the cookies and fudge yesterday...was the wind blowing in the right direction hehe?
Have a great day all!!

Jeanne - you may also want to drop-ship some wings, etc in from a variety of upstate NY establishments. In my neck of the woods in Buffalo area the original wings place (Anchor Bar) as well as a local super pizza/wings joint (La Nova) will dry-ice your fav's to your son .. I know it's not Mom's cooking but sb next best thing!
