Surprise, surprise, surprise
In crash tests released Tuesday, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found that drivers of 2009 versions of the Smart "fortwo," Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris could face significant leg and head injuries in severe front-end crashes with larger, mid-size vehicles.

Why
do the crash tests always show head-on or T-bone crashes? Do they ever do the rear-end collisions? If so, I just can't remember ever seeing it. Of course, there's lots of things I can't remember.

In other news....the Laws of Physics still apply!
Fortunately, head on collisions at 40mph are somewhat rare. The small vehicles did better in the barrier tests. |
