I too am addicted to TOTV, I read it each morning and each evening and I check it during the day. I absolutely love the Villages and have been accused of being a "Villages cheerleader" ..... I came to the Villages in in 1994 when they were building Spanish Spring and lurked on this site from 2009 -2011 until I joined. I bought a house in 2011, sold and bought a bigger house in 2014. I rent my house in the winter and am up north as I write this.

The thing I love the most about TOTV is the people and their wisdom and the information they provide, especially the "girls" Gracie, Red Witch, Bonny, CFrance, KittyGilchrist just to name a few.(Hey, if God made anything better than women,he kept it for himself..) I have never met anyone of you yet I feel like I know you.

I am from Michigan but live and raised a family in Ohio, I am half red and half blue so I am conflicted in my existence! Some of you are redder, some bluer, some more diplomatic but for the most part respectful, that is what I like about this forum and its people.

BTW: Gracie, it is 11 degrees in Ohio as I write this, a couple of inches of snow fell last night...I really miss the Villages...

TOTV is very addictive but I must agree with Ed and it's time to move onto other pursuits.

Will check in form time to time but it's stopped being a whole of fun, anymore.

Thankful for the great people I have met here and have become friends with. A valuable resource tool for those wanting to move here and need info.

TOTV is a good forum for The Villages because of its : "many eyes" reporting happenings that otherwise would be missed.

Indeed moderators have a very difficult challenge

By environment, education and practice, the subject matter I most enjoy is honest debate. However these are not topics for some because they take them too personally.

In additional to being too emotional for some our society as a whole has lost its ability for civil discourse politicians inabilities to resolve issues is one clear indicator of this lost art.

On the other hand I have communicated with many members who are quite skilled at debate and so it is sad that provisions are not made to allow these responsible members an opportunity to do so.

Anyone who has been on this forum for a period of time has noticed the change in those usernames of members who participate on a regular basis.

So the obvious question is what reason(s) contribute to active members actively withdrawing from the forum ?

Clearly there is a continuum of new members but its sad to lose touch with some

I have even tried to gather like thinking people from this forum for a social evening so we have a way to talk together without annoying people who completely disagree with us. It is hard to listen and act like it doesn't matter when someone is typing something you completely disagree with..... AND you know from Facebook that some are against things that you believe in. It doesn't mean that person doesn't have good qualities but just not the same philosophies on how things work or should work.

I would very much like to have a political forum. That way, if you can't stand the heat, you can just stay out of the kitchen.

One very different thing about seniors is, they don't hold back. We don't have all the time in the world like we used to

ugotme apparently came from the same type family ..so ugotme what special ingredient does your family add to make their pasta sauce special?

Hi GG: Ïts hard to listen........is a fact but be ever present that we are all entitled to our views. If people exercised that rule disagreement would always be civil. Underlying that rule is freeing oneself of ego.

I spent my entire career educating employee staff after staff that I didn't need to be right but I did need to make the right choices so that their input was indeed valuable and indeed valuable it was right down to the file clerks.
