I like the last sentence from the study-article where it says that experts agree that vitamins will not compensate for a lousy diet or bad health habits.

It seems so obvious to me. I remember having a discussion, with friends, about multiple vitamins, back in 1969, and that was exactly my position back then. I used to say that a vitamin C tablet is not the same as an orange, apple, broccoli or any other food that contains vitamin C.

I think the public has been "brain-washed" by advertising and by statements made by some health-book authors, not to mention magazines etc. I guess a daily multiple vitamin is like a get-out-of-jail-free card for some people. They don't like healthy whole foods and they think a multiple vitamin will get them off the hook so they can continue their bad habits.

There ya go! Now you understand marketing. Everyone does it, not just the vitamin manufacturers.

I take one to "make up" for my lousy diet.

I need a woman to get me eating good things...I just can't bring myself to eat healthy on my own.

eat a healthy, well balanced diet. and maybe something to regulate cholesterol; however, sometimes we are just pre-disposed to high cholesterol (heredity) and absolutely nothing will lower the numbers.

Don't think a blanket report is valid. I have suffered fro m leg cramps MD recommended magnesium , cramps gone.hubby has pre macular degeneration MD recommended supplements going to take those too. Next month their will be a study that shows this study was flawed
Remember butter bad, now margarine is bad
I think I could go on and on
