Default Fasten your Financial Seat belts ... Month #3

It's very sad to see this happening. Sitting on the sidelines, it looks like a perfect brew that could push the world into a recession or worse.

Hopefully everyone has a cash hoard like our billionaire friends have prepared for. Cash is king right now, even if you do nothing with it. Don't try and catch a falling knife as they say - hang onto cash until Buffet and his like start spending again which could be years away.

I wonder if this is the inflection point that China has been waiting for? Time will tell. Let's hope this doesn't do a number on social security.

Good luck everyone. More turbulence coming.

Stay calm. Touch grass.

Buy a little since it's gonna be low.

I will believe all the hype when the US companies that moved their businesses abroad for the cheap labor and increased profits, bring their industries back home.
I am of the opinion that the wrong horse is being flogged.

Yes - ROTH conversion time.

There's no point in dreaming about bringing back manufacturing and textile jobs. Not many people want to do them, and they're largely automated anyways. Tariffs are just another version of blame the foreigner for our challenges rather than facing them directly ourselves.

Someone had better figure out how to make the most out of AI technology so we have jobs in the future for the young folk. I somehow don't think the Washington dinosaurs are the right people for that.

Default A little pain for a whole lotta gain

A little pain, but we will all get a whole lotta gain! Corporate offices and their taxes moving back to the US almost overnight and a clear playing field. It helps to be the number one economy on the planet.

So, the sky is falling? The Shiller Index remains nearly double its historic median and mean.

I am sniffing around, taking a sip here and a bite there but unwilling to bet my cash farm yet. I love bargains so am patiently and serenely awaiting a chance for one or more.

I don’t believe the tariffs are based on where corporate offices reside.

Many moved their operating offices out of the US because of taxes. I believe it all will boil down to the deals made with Washington. Move those tax bases back to the US instead of Brussels, Zurich and Dublin.

Agree. If you jump for joy when you realize the occasional 20% plus gain yet suffer from depression and a loss of sleep when the market occasionally drops substantially, then you have not “planned well”.
One person that still gets their pound of flesh are the advisors who reduce your returns further by grabbing another 1%, or more, from your portfolio.

This makes no sense. Belgium, Switzerland, and Ireland are not going to force corporate offices out and even if they did that would not change the tariffs. Corporations are not going to move corporate headquarters due to the tariffs because the tariffs have nothing to do with the location of corporate offices.

The tariffs are on goods being brought into the country, regardless of where the corporate headquarters of the manufacturer resides.
