Default What's the most irritating local ad on TVs here in TV?

Bob Dance "where everybody rides!"; Sam Pak from Appliance Direct as well as that lady in the garish green suit; or some of the other auto dealership commercials??

It looks like the late Bob Dance's ads date from the 1970s.

Taltarzac -

I agree on both you mentioned. Can't stand Bob Dance or Appliance Direct ads. Yes, they may "stick in our heads" but I would never spend a penny with either one of them and that's the real reason you advertise.

Whoa. You trying to tell me that Bob Dance has departed this world? ("late Bob Dance') And little Grace Dance is a debutante by now and not a moppet? I can't believe it.

Without doubt, the lawyer who used to be a sheriff's deputy. Dear God, please don't ever let me or my friends ever be in a position where I must rely on this guy.

(Actually all the lawyer ads totally suck, which is somewhat fitting, as they are primarily bottom-feeders.)

Default Scott Dance is the son of Bob Dance and used to be the kid in the 1970s ads.

Grace Dance is a granddaughter I believe of Bob Dance. I just meant that Bob Dance has been doing these kind of ads since the 1970s. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/busin...,1699321.story

The programming of cable is in the pits. There are more commercials than the actual program.

We always "mute" during commercials since the voices along with the commercial is so very abrasive.

The programs we choose to watch, we most always record so we can fast-forward thru the many commericals. These commercials are a total turnoff....I would NEVER buy a car from Toyota of Orlando mainly because they were on so often one gets annoyed seeing and hearing them which ultimately turns one against the product. I don't think that one could recall the product sold by most of these hucksters.

Morgan and Morgan (the lawyers); the lawyer/doctor who calls himself "the MDJD";
We have an equally annoying lawyer here in New England "James Sokolov" who runs malpractice law ads all the time so I guess everyone has to deal with annoying lawyer ads (they are the ones with the money to pay for the ads!).

lol Coleen -- Sokolov is all over the country. He started with the asbestos mess, made a small fortune and is now hoping to find another massive class action suit. Guess he missed out on BC mess.

My vote is definitely the appliance guy. I hear his voice and my ears just cringe and when the green suit comes on, I'm almost in tears. I've also heard they really do a good job of making their customers unhappy.

Default I make my choice of the worst/most irritating based on

exposure and I believe there is nobody close to the number of times the Bob Dance commercials are on. They air time must be pretty cheap.
They are like home made movies...no creativity...dull and the little girl is cute but the twangy pitch irritability is a function of exposure and they have a lot sooooooooo....

"Bob Dance where everybody rides" drives me right up the wall and it is played over and over and over again.

The guy selling gold on CNBC. His voice is annoying and he has been having the 'starting today final offering for months'.

Several of these ads (Applliance Direct, Bob Dance, John Morgan, Holly selling Lexus', etc) have been around for a couple of decades here.

The classic was Sam Baer (who had a shoe store which claimed could fit any human) who hawked for Allied Discount Tire Stores. With a very raspy voice and bug-eyed look, he's announce "Tires ain't pretty....."

In addition to Bob Dance and the Appliance guy...

Mr Unbelievable for Toyota of Orlando (that guy, Tom Park, is another professional shill who does car ads all over the country)

and...

David Maus, another toyota guy...with the strange wardrobe selections and goofy ending smile.

Also, when watching some lower budget events on cable TV (e.g. US Open tennis coverage on ESPN or USA, they pick 2 or 3 commercials that get played over and over and over again). Not necessarily annoying commercials on their own, just repeated soooooo much.
