Not me

I'm in NY just got over a 8" snow temps in the 20's. We expect 3-6" of snow tomorrow.

But............

Monday we get on a big silver bird to fly south to our Hadley Home. I wonder how many days till I thaw out?

Me!!! You can keep that cold and snow. Yes, it is pretty from afar, but, I sure don't miss it.

I'll take sunny and 80 on December 20 anyday.

Thanks for sharing, Russ. I understand there's a round 2 of snow heading your way on Sunday. Stock up on milk, bread, and toilet paper!!!

Talking me... me... me....

My snow has melted off so I get a day to drive into town to go to the fitness center, shopping, eat out lunch at my favorite Thai restaurant and prepare for the next round of storms

Strangely, I feel homesick when I see the white stuff in pictures at Christmas time. It looks fluffy and romantic.

But then I head out into the sunshine and the feeling quickly passes.

Default I do !!!!!

I do, I'm in Carver, MA and it's been snowing since 2:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon. We already have about a 16". More snow on the way tomorrow. Hopefully rain on Christmas Eve.
We were hoping the snow would hold off until after we leave for TV on New Years day to the Villa we bought in Oct. in Polo Ridge. I keep checking the weather at TV everyday and I am so jealous!!! I only have 6 more working days until I take early retirement from The Boston Beer Co., and can't wait to start our "snow birding" to TV. Hopefully we will be coming down more than in the winter. But it really is nice in this area during the summer.
I really enjoy reading the threads on TOTV. It's also been such a help in what to expect and also different questions we had, but were answered here in TOTV without even writing in.
You people are great, and funny and informative.

I personally would rather have the nice white snow of Boston than the rain/sleet/slush that we received in Central NJ. Of course, 80 degrees and sunny beats the snow by quite a margin.

I'm not sure what people have against snow versus a cold rain. I remember once at work it had snowed and the trees and fields were a winter wonderland in the bright sunshine; also the roads were perfectly clear as well. I overheard someone say to his friend as they looked at the snow from the window, "Maybe we'll get some rain and melt all this miserable snow". Maybe it's my Michigan roots versus the mentality of the NY metro area, but I can't imagine trading dreary rain for the beauty of a fresh snowfall. But, I certainly can understand trading palm trees for snow.

Unfortunately the beauty of a fresh snowfall is very shortlived. Within a day or so it turns to dirty slush and the winter wonderland becomes a fading memory. However, I totally agree with you, if its going to do anything, Let it be clean white snow not damp cold rain.

North of Boston here. This white stuff, "SUCKS!" Two trips around with the snowblower and there is more on the way. Please God, sell my house?

Golfnut....68 and cloudy? I guess when you live in TV you get spoiled when the sun isn't out. LOL
NJblue...I'm a Jerseyite too and I am sooo happy the snow didn't make it here in Ocean County. Last nite we saw a dusting but this morning woke up to RAIN AGAIN! The snow may look lovely but as soon as the cars begin to run over it, it gets black and ugly. It's a B---ch to shovel and I am getting too old for this region. Time to look at the palms and the colors of a tropical paradise. It gets so black and white here in the winter. Everything looks dead and I need to be alive and smiling at the world!

Well, it has now warmed up here to 18 degrees, with blowing snow and whiteouts all over. Cars off the road, and a travel ban in effect. Snowblowed last night and this morning. Son is home snowblowing as we speak, and can hopefully get from here to Rochester today. Roads are getting closed, and the plows are not doing that good of a job. Accidents all over the Thruway.

Rain isn't pretty, but you don't shovel it.

I'm pulling a 24 at the firehouse, and it could be a busy night.

Enjoy paradise! See you in May.......
