States wanting photo ID requirements are offering them free to voters. This red herring Holder is attempting to hang over states is well transparent...and its about the only thing transparent in the Obama Administration. How can one logically argue against wanting to prevent voter fraud. buggyone you are the one that always comes out front in favor of law and order issues even as respects enborcement of the cartpaths. in Texas a concealed handgun license is acceptable to vote,a student I.D. is not. This is part of voter ID problem...which are good which aen't and why?

I never heard of anyone bragging he voted 17 times in the last election. I am not doubting you, of course.

Didn't I just say in a post that I have no problem with a voter photo ID? I would just want them to be easily accessible to everyone at no cost. From what I can tell, Florida charges $25 for a state photo ID card and you have to jump through lots of hoops.

buggyone: the news media was doing field work in the black community testing to see if these folks would again vote for Obama. One gentlemen said he voted 17 times for Obama in the last election while 3 other guys admited to vote a number of times but would not offer a number. I have no doubts this type of thing has been happening for a number of years but I was dumbfounded that these four guys would admit it.

There is a good reason for this. Student ID's are issued to all students including residents of other states and students from other countries. Texas would prefer to limit the vote to residents of Texas and not include people from Saudi Arabia or even Oklahoma.

Texas voter ID is a poll tax....and therefore, illegal.

I haven't been able to find the story you mentioned of the gentleman who said he voted 17 times. While searching, I found this story about PA state rep, Mike Turzai, a GOP lawmaker, saying on camera that the voter ID law PA recently passed is "gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of PA". It would seem, according to Turzai, that the law wasn't passed because of voter fraud but to disenfranchise 750,000 voters.

I would think that the judge that hears this case won't take too kindly to Turzai's remarks as they are played over and over in court.
