One notable thing is that Switzerland is NOT part of the Euro. They still get to make their own policies.
Don't confuse them with facts!!!

Don't think God much cares either about who wins a particular sporting event.
Exactly...I can see teams praying that no one gets hurt, etc. but praying that they win? Really now......

Please elucidate, if you can. I can see no big difference in these two cases of asking for God's intervention. What's the difference?

Did you say hallucinate? I can do that.
Seriously, people say things like you used for an example all the time. Thank god I didn't go in the sand trap, thank god it didn't rain today. Those are harmless.
But their are other examples, Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann come to mind who use references to God, either because they really believe what they say or are too naive to know better. I'd choose the latter. Bachmann backing off and saying it she was talking metaphorically when she said the hurricane was a message from God doesn't cut it. I believe she really meant that. I want a President who acts with logic and reality.
With regard to sports, I can't give specific examples but you and I have both heard athletes say in interviews "All glory goes to God" "God was with us today"
I happen to love the Green Bay Packers.....I doubt God has anything to do with any of their victories through history. I don't make myself real clear on this....but you get the gist.

I highly respect Barack Hussein Obama....it's only the mean-spirited right wing haters that call him the Chosen One or the Messiah. In fact, he is the chosen one by the voters to be President....much to your chagrin.

I do understand what you're saying. I'm just wondering if the fact that someone is asking God (seriously or not) to do something you don't agree with is the real issue that you have with it.

Well , it is your prerogative to respect a community organizer who has never held a real job in his life. A "man" who has never had a private sector job. A thug who threatens people who disagree with his ideals.

Don't you guys get sick of using the same old bull**** "mean-spirited?"

Mean spirited is what you liberals use to discredit women. It is shameful how you treat women candidates.
