Default Another "grassroots" action in the works..

The "grassroots" of the revolution keep on going blurred by the words and daily speeches .......

This from the Communist Party of the USA's newspaper on the EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT.....which has the potential to allow unions to basically strip the secret ballot away...

"“What grassroots American movement can, in the span of one week, run 57 letters to the editor in newspapers across America, send 14,000 handwritten letters to 10 U.S. senators, and simultaneously plan 35 grassroots advocacy events with workers in 10 states? America’s labor movement can,” Acuff said."

“It is a rare, beautiful thing when we see the class solidarity of the upper classes break down. Sometimes it mistakenly seems that the class solidarity of the upper classes is the most powerful thing in our political economy. Of course, it isn’t as we learned in November of 2008 and are learning again today.”

I realize that all of you folks who supported this candidate are thrilled but this stuff scares me. Class warfare openly !

"The Employee Free Choice Act would merely give workers, instead of employers, the choice of a secret-ballot election or automatic recognition when a clear workplace majority asks for it. Employers who weep for the "secret ballot" election while always searching for new ways to abuse the process are crying crocodile tears."

Default All I know is if the union is in favor of the non secret ballot

it merely means secret ballots have not been in their favor.
Yesteryear or today, intimidation and peer pressure are major factors in an organizing campaign.

Having personally experienced the fear, terrorism and brutality of unions either on strike or in an organizing mode.....I am all for anything that gives the people the right to vote as they feel is right....an open vote cannot possibly allow them to do so....they will not want to become targets.

If you haven't personally lived in the worst of it you don't have no idea what it is about.

BTK,
You hit the nail on the head!
Unfortunately I think this is but an indication of many more things to come with the current administration as it pursues the socialization of America. :-(

Secret ballots are to protect the voter from everyone. There is no benefit to the worker to do away with it.

I could easily quote things from neo-Nazi and white supremacy magazines and attribute it to the inclinations of Republicans who supported George Bush. Very underhanded and dishonest to use such a straw an argument!

Are the facts accurate ?????

Are you aware of this movement and the promise made to labor unions on this issue ?

And frankly my choice of links was intentional to make a point. During the election I posted many pro Obama links from the same site on this board and will do so again if the facts are accurate. I do not make flip comments and I do not post anything without insuring there is some credibility !

For you to call me "underhanded and dishonest" is unmistakable language which I heard many times from the left on here before. Your name calling is not going to make the facts any less obvious.
