Another Tax "Mistake'
it's amazing how there is another Cabinet Secretary nominee with having made a "tax error" of note. This time Mr. Daschle somehow "overlooked" over $128,000 in back taxes over two years.
By my amateur math, that has to have involved income in the $275K0-$350K range. If you can "overlook" that much income, the amount of "looked" income must be quite a number. It must be nice to be one of the royal court where such "errors" are poo-poo'd by the President and others within the party hierarchy as "unfortunate, but not significant." |

Does anybody really believe they are tax mistakes????
Given they are first lawyers. Second they are wealthy. Third they have accountants doing their returns. Et al.
I personally believe they are conscious decisions made by, supposedly, intelligent people, who knowingly elect to skate on the thin ice of the tax laws (as they interpret them). If they get caught they can afford to pay. If they don't they are ahead of the "game". We will soon see if Obama's so called high standard of ethics is more than campaign rhetoric. With the Treasury candidate, being confirmed, I would say it is rhetoric only. At some point the masses (I sometimes refer to as "sheeple") will eventually wake up and not tolerate the prostitution of the laws by those who make the laws. There is NO excuse....NONE...lawyers know better...and procede based on their own personal desires....just like evreything else they do. There are those in office and then are those of us who are expected to do as the law states. I will will the so called "honest mistake" approach as I do my 2008 return!!!! BTK |

$128K worth of unpaid taxes due to "honest mistakes" which could have been avoided by $50 worth of software available at every office supply store in the country. What an alibi.... And he was going to be responsible for policy decisions and actions involving $Billions of public funds to be used to protect the public. |

As far as "change" goes, Mr. Obama was interviewed by Brian Williams today regarding these issues and the President stated "I screwed up".
So after less than 3 weeks in office, Mr. Obama admitted he made a mistake. That appears to be considerable "change" from the previous person in the same office. |

I actually watched the interview where he "apologized", and if you listen to it...he is apologizing for political ineptness....NOT anything else !!!! This tax issue was known in August !!! |
