Bucco, in the team Obama ad regarding GST Steel, the plant in Kansas City, Missouri, there are many things that aren't mentioned. One of the most important facts concerning the company is a 10 week union strike in April 1997. Another point omitted is that fact that nearly half the US steel companies filed for bankruptcy around the same time that GST Steel filed and most of the companies customers filed for bankruptcy.

It is sickening to see and hear the lies and then to read responses from people who blindly, and sometimes knowingly, continue the lies.

So great to hear all the parrots of the vulture (two birds in one sentence) "capitalists" just repeating the same tripe all over again and again.

I would think some of them would do research instead of just their repeating what FAUX News has on the air that day.

1. Please stop with the insults.

2. Do you see any references to Fox news, which is by the way the most watched network BY FAR. And cannot speak for BK, but I never watch Fox or any of the cable news channels.

3. Speaking of research, PLEASE DO YOUR OWN, and refute what we have said, which you cannot.

4. You are a true soldier of Obama....just say things...TRUTH does not matter.

5. PLEASE stop with the insults.

I hope, and I mean it, that the administration...I suppose Axelrod wakes up. This is demeaning to the President...when you, at this stage of the campaign, have members of your own party crying foul and garbage, you may be on the wrong track. He is better than all the distortion, hate and class warfare that is being exhibited.

if one does do some research on the subject of the evil aspects of venture capitalists perhaps you can enlighten us as to the number of them that are consultants and major contributors to Obama including one that is a director of Bain capital.

Also please investigate for us the amount of contributions coming from the very types of companies Obama is railing against Romney for having been a part of.......

He is once again, knowingly talking out of both sides of his face. I cannot imagine not wanting to know why it is not OK for Romney to have been a participant in the business that he. Obama, uses for support, contributions and consultation.

Can't wait to hear the results of some Obama's supporters findings.

Let's have that one on one comparison of Obama's and Romney's past accomplishments as well.

Whatever the Obama campaign is doing seems to be working. Bain Capital has a favorably rating of 9%, that's less than congress.

It is certainly working for Romney for sure.

And, your implication is that Obama's goal is to destroy this company...is that correct ?

Since we now know from one of our posters, Obama's intent with his Bain ads is to destroy the company....that I did not know......but a few things to be mentioned...

First, he is getting donations from Bain and I suppose he doesnt matter if he puts them out and he loses the donations...what an honorable guy....

Then.....

"Despite a growing backlash from his fellow Democrats, President Obama has doubled down on his attacks on Mitt Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital. But the strategy could backfire in ways Obama did not anticipate. After all, if Romney’s record in private equity is fair game, then so is Obama’s record in public equity — and that record is not pretty.

Since taking office, Obama has invested billions of taxpayer dollars in private businesses, including as part of his stimulus spending bill. Many of those investments have turned out to be unmitigated disasters — leaving in their wake bankruptcies, layoffs, criminal investigations and taxpayers on the hook for billions.
Consider just a few examples of Obama’s public equity failures:"

Forget Bain — Obama’s public-equity record is the real scandal - The Washington Post

Raser Tech.....given 33 million dollars of taxpayer money in 2010. Went through that money and filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and owes 1.5 million in back taxes

ECOtality.....given 126.2 million of taxpayer money in 2009. Company president attended the state of union address and sat with Mrs Obama in her box in 2010; hailed as a stimulus success story by Obama. Have incurred over 45 million in losses and is under investigation for insider trading.

Nevada Geothermal Power.....Obama gave them 98.5 million in 2010. They have reported in turmoil and their auditor reported that there was significant doubt they could continue at all.

First Solar.....3 Billion in loan guarantees from Obama. They just fired 30 percent of the work force and are losing about 450 million

Abound Solar, Inc.....400 million dollar guarantee. They just laid off 180 employees

Beacon Power......43 million guarantee. In 2011 they filed for bankruptcy.

NOW...There are more companies listed but what struck me about all of this is , and this should really get your attention...

"Amazingly, Obama has declared that all the projects received funding “based solely on their merits.” But as Hoover Institution scholar Peter Schweizer reported in his book, “Throw Them All Out,” fully 71 percent of the Obama Energy Department’s grants and loans went to “individuals who were bundlers, members of Obama’s National Finance Committee, or large donors to the Democratic Party.”

Sorry, if this is a little bit off-thread-topic, but BTK's post got me thinking of this story.

How about this tale of a typical liberal Obama worshiping sycophant doing what all of them would love to do. She threatens one of her students with arrest for criticizing President Barack (don't mention his middle name) Obama.

Of course, thank God, the progressives haven't gotten the government of the country to the point where she could get away with it..................yet.

She was suspended, not fired......yet, if ever; and I bet it did wonders for the hearts of the liberal progressive; and someone may be writing a poem or sonnet in honor of the courage of this woman, I would imagine.

If only Alan Ginsberg was still alive.

Default Rule Four

Rule Four from Rules For Radicals...
Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”
So Romney claims that his work at Bain Capital created jobs. Obama takes the same set of circumstances and accurately demonstrates that at times Romney's firm caused jobs to be eliminated, an argument that enrages the working class. As long as Obama has Romney on the defensive on this issue, there's no room for discussion of the really important issues. It's a great tactic that seems to be working.

Don't get me wrong. Right now, Obama is using the "rules" better than Romney. But if the Romney campaign could use some of the Rules for Radicals themselves, they absolutely would. They've worked very well for a long time.

I read that Bain had a .725 success rate. I wish my Cubbies could hit that well. Heck, I'd be happy with .300.

when there is a layoff (firing is the term partisan and union members prefer)
to keep the business entity profitable and solvent....if the layoff is 5-10%....the only clamoring that ever gets any air time is the brutal company "firing" etc/yak/yak/yak.

There is never a mention of the usual 90-95% that are still employed....that are able to be kept employed because of the actions taken.
And if the management was smart when they developed the lay off list they got rid of the dead wood and those who never added value in the first place.

Just like the lame Bain bashing....the partisan patter is to focus on those let go....not the ones remaining (usually in excess of 90%)....and certainly not going to report the ones that grew employment after the repair of the company.

Just another partisan distraction away from REAL ISSUES.

If you had listened to President Obama's speech in Iowa the other day, you would have heard him say that private equity firms are good, but being CEO of a private equity firm does not have the same qualifications as being president (I'm paraphrasing here). Bain Capital's main goal was to make money for their shareholders, not create jobs. Perhaps it's time for Mitt Romney to start running on his record as governor of MA not CEO of Bain.
