I think it is nice that folks still believe in the American flag, regardless of how it is displayed. It would be even nicer if those same folks were patriotic enough to serve their country in some positive manner. Heck, even Obama had to be coerced into wearing a flag lapel pin. Liberals would rather wave an ISIS flag or rainbow flag, and try to hide the fact that once upon a time, the Confederate flag was their flag of choice.

My great niece worked at the World Trade Center...thank god she was late to work that day. We did NOT know for hours that she was alive.

Wow, I also know someone that knows someone that was related to someone that almost was in the trade center. But, that doesn't make me a leftie, or does it? And if I have an American label on my underwear, that makes me patriotic too! And you compare that with serving your country? Thanks a lot. That really makes some of us feel good about those protected at home when the only difficult issue they might have is how to find the restroom in a foreign country.

When someone states that they wore American flags overseas to show their patriotism and then it turns out that it was just them wearing a label with the flag on it, it deserves derision.

You people are fools if you think that wearing an American flag pin on your clothing or flag labels on your underwear, or waving flags on your golf cart somehow makes you more patriotic. Patriotism is not about the symbols it's about the actions, specifically devotion to one's homeland.

So far, you haven't mentioned any evidence your supposed patriotism, but I never said you weren't patriotic. You are the one that insisted that you are patriotic. You keep telling us about relatives or friends of friends that survived 9/11, like that is really something to be proud of. You mentioned wearing flags in a foreign country and when questioned about it, admitted that those little flags were on clothing labels. And then to defend your statement, you said you were real brave because you wore those little labels fearlessly. And that makes you patriotic? Hmmm, perhaps you still don't get it. Why don't you just tell us that you are patriotic because you served your country, or sacrificed something or someone for your country? You haven't proved your statement, about being left and patriotic. You are the one that said you were left and patriotic, not me. Making a general comment that liberals are generally pacifists and cowards is what I say. There are exceptions, and I am willing to concede that, but you have not proven to be an exception.

Why is it that liberals claim to be progressive, and yet believe in the old failed Socialism? Why is it that they want to be proud to be progressives but want to deny being socialists. They don't believe in war, but try to prove that they are patriotic by waving flags. I believe in freedom of religion but you don't because you want to impose your religion on the rest of us. I have NEVER had an abortion but I don't judge the people who choose that route. But you do judge them. I support the death penalty but I think it is cheaper and more punishment to lock them up and throw a way the key. You rail against socialism but most likely you take Social Security and Medicare which are Socialist programs.

That statement is total nonsense. The wars from Vietnam on less than 2% of the nations population served in the Armed Services. Due to the draft, the majority of the people that fought the Vietnam war were blacks, and whites that didn't go to college. How many blacks are conservative Republicans?

Less than 18% now in the Senate, and House served in the Armed Services. How many members on Senate, and House wear the American flag on their chests? It is almost a dress requirement. How many of our representatives would send their children into battle? It is perfectly fine to send someone else child into harms way. The term for this is chicken hawks.
