Yes, taxes are very high - but your author agrees the Danes are a very contented people. Cradle to grave social services. Everyone pays the high taxes and everyone reaps the benefits.

As for your commentary on what liberals would want is only your speculation. You have to realize that system has been in place for years and years in Denmark. You cannot just flip a switch and - POOF, it is there. It has to be similar to a rheostat (that is a dimmer switch) and just dialed in very small increments to go from the lifestyle of America to that of Denmark. With the changes in political parties in America occurring e ery few years, the chances of turning our system to theirs is nil (that means zero).

You really didn't dig into it very deeply. Danes are not the happy people you think they are. High drug usage, rampant bestiality, alcoholism, rising crime rate, and no motivation to excel. And now they are welcoming refugees. Their country will be bankrupt in no time. No, they are not a very good example of socialism success. The more you read about them the more you realize that they are very depressing.

No, my statement about liberals is not speculation. It is an opinion based on facts. Your statement about "everyone pays high taxes and everyone reaps the benefits" is just plain mythical Utopia. Besides, what they have would not even come close to working in America. We are way too large and have way too many folks that want to exploit others. We also have a very diverse culture involving many religions, races and ambitions. You would have to have a stagnant environment to even consider their system of socialism.

I was on a recent cruise and spoke with a man from Denmark. He said they pay a 40 percent income tax which he admitted was a lot of money. But they receive GOOD free medical care. He had a knee replacement done and it did not require a long wait to be done nor did it cost him anything at all. He has 3 children who will receiving FREE college. He is receiving a very nice retirement pension that allows him to go on cruises and vacations. Workers get very generous paid vacation time.

The leaders you mentioned were dictators - sort of what Trump, Cruz, or Rubio want for themselves.
My Swedish cousins came to visit for a week not long ago. They really like the United States but are very happy in their home country. Not since my grandmother in the early 1900's have any other of my Swedish relatives moved here. She married well here but still talked about the "old country" with fondness. My grandparents:

What the heck are you arguing about? Didn't I say that the chances of it working in America is zero?

Rampant bestiality? Get me a link to that, please.

Look it up. It was mentioned when I was reading about all their other problems, and exposing of the myth that they are the happiest country on Earth. They are trying to outlaw bestiality. Supposedly, one out of five males have experience it in that country. There is eve supposed to be special establishments dedicated to providing that service for a fee. I wonder if they use red lights to mark the district.

I researched the internet and found no evidence that the Danes are not the happiest people on earth, or that there is a high level of alcoholism.

I don't know. Why do you care? If not, then why bring it up? Or, do you even remember? I don't care. Do you care? No? Then what's the point? Why are you responding?

Old man Sanders thought he just won the lottery. He got up this morning and was caught by the secret service attempting to gain entry to the White House. He thought that he had won the election and was the new president. When he saw Obama, he thought he was the butler and demanded that he carry his luggage. Rumor is that he had already invited Putin to his inaugural ball. Sanders' first executive order is to rename our country, USSA, the United Socialist States of America. Every president is required to own a dog, so he is going to have two. He is going to name them Karl and Marx.
