I will give you feed back as time gos by. I have even sent PM to one individual trying to make peace, but it is not capable of the person to be civil, so me blocking him is his loss not mine.

I'm not sure if Villager II is referring to me when he said he sent a PM trying to make peace. Villager II sent me a unsolicited PM advising me of a "surf 'n turf" night event at the Havana Club, and that was the extent of the message. It wasn't an invitation. I was kind of puzzled by the notice. It was the first correspondence I ever had from Villager II, and I didn't respond to it. (my bad, I guess). "Make peace"???; I don't know if there was any thing to make peace over. I have never had harsh words with Villager II.

Maybe the above quote is not referring to me, but I did get that PM. I just wanted to explain MY situation.

I referring to Villager II in the third person, because if I am the "culprit", he won't be reading this............I guess.

As a result I have learned that some folks can really get hot under the collar...and rightly so. Both religion and politics represent a lot about who we are and our core beliefs. So being as subtle as a train wreck is not advisable. Someone made a similar statement but as one Speaker of the House (1960's) once said of all members of Congress...We are all friends after 6:00PM
Yeah I suppose I am describing members of congress, and I suppose our leaders are a reflection of us !!

Yeah as a nation we have lost our ability to engage in civil debate. Just listen to the sparring by the talking heads on the news station...shouting over one another believing that he talks the fastest and the loudest wins

We all need to get back to seeking understanding and not going directly to securing agreement

You could say the same for this site. No matter how hard some try to debate, the small group of cowards always seem to find a way to get an argument started. I am going to leave Political for a while and hope it cuts some of the cancer out of this site. See y'all in the rest of TOTV but just not here for a while. I have let a few idiots get under my skin and knowing they are just loud mouth cowards does not help. I just was not raised with that kind of cruelness. Bye for now, and hope everyone enjoys the site.

Rubicon~ Maybe we are related? Similar upbringing and looking back I greatly appreciate it. As you say, religion and politics are a very large part of who we are. I just don't understand what better discussions there could possibly be. These two subjects help us to grow and learn and mature, and I never want to stop doing any of the three. But I can't do any of them with my fingers in my ears, my head in the sand, or the ignore button on! Plus the more mature I can get, the more friends I am liable to have after 6pm!

Someone has me on their ignore list because I refer to Obama as "B. Hussein Obama." He makes fun of everybody that doesn't adhere to his shallow view of this world. He listens to MSNBC like it is the Gospel. When you give facts and links, he does not give any information or opinion, he just attacks the poster or the poster's links.I really feel sorry for this misinformed individual. He really thinks his wise cracks are cute, too.

I honestly don't get why you care if "someone" has placed you on their ignore list. By caring about it, you give him power over you. Move on! There are many others who enjoy reading the opinions of everyone who posts in Political!

Bingo, Barefoot. There are plenty of posts I ignore. I don't comment on them; that's it.

Posters?; why would I ignore a poster? Sometimes even the "jerks" make a point that's thought provoking and I would be remiss not to entertain their view. (Some may put me in that category, and that's fine, as long as you're not publicly rude)

How fragile are we that we cannot stand and listen to another's opinion? My ideas are my ideas, they're not my children.
