Campaign Ad Shows Allen West Punching Women In The Face

I hate these kinds of ads but what are we going to do about it. The campaign planners use these because they work. These kinds of ads have been around for decades on TV and centuries in other places. You probably would have seen something like this in the campaigns of people like John Adams and Abraham Lincoln. Does not mean that John Adams or Abraham Lincoln actually approved these ads.

Alan West was fined $15,000 for his actions and told to resign from the Army to avoid a court-martial which would have sent him to prison.

That's inaccurate. Col. West's unorthodox action which possibly saved the lives of his men from a reported planned ambush, were ultimately referred to an Article 15 proceeding rather than court-martial, at which West was fined $5,000.

I'm guessing you place less value on the lives of Col. West's men as opposed to the "discomfort" of an enemy combatant?

Second guessing Col. West's actions in the situation he was in, by someone who couldn't begin to comprehend the situation is a little ridiculous IMHO.

The military did what it had to do and that was to "slap" Col. West's hand. 95 members of Congress signed a letter sent to the Secretary of the Army supporting Col. West.

David Horowitz, in online publication FrontPage Magazine, named West its 2003 Man of the Year, for "valuing his own troops' lives over the mental well being and self-esteem of an Iraqi terrorist"

Bravo.

Yeah. Why would we expect the candidate to call off his dogs when he did nothing about "new black panther" thugs thumping a nightstick while standing in front of voters at the door of their polling place in Phila. in 2008.

Fortunately, most will not give up ethics for votes !

Electoral votes are secondary in my opinion. Having some self pride is much more important.

You apparently forgot that electoral votes are what counts in a Presidential election. He who has the most electoral votes wins! By the way, I believe that is also in the US Constitution.

This thread is not about electoral votes...it is about negative ads. This post is way off subject

The post to which you are replying is making the point that these ads reflect that more important than personal ethics is the votes.

Thank you very much. I do not intend on leaving the forum. The forum needs some clear thinking people like you, me, DaleMN, Coralway and some others instead of the fogged-up viewpoints of trogladites to the Fox darlings such as Limbaugh, Beck, and Hannity.
