As we know, the scientific community likes to use Earth Day as a forum for their often gloomy prediction of the future. Remember, these are some of the most respected members of the scientific community and many of these projection are a consensus of those minds. These are not quacks paid by the oil companies or some right wing think tank. We can ignore these warnings at our own peril.

(Oh, I forgot. These come from the first Earth Day, in 1970.)

Keep these predictions in mind when you hear the same predictions made today. They’ve been making the same predictions for 39 years. And they’re going to continue making them until…well…forever.

You're right. Global warming/climate change/whatever has taken on the mantra of a religion and to question one's belief is to question their creed. One doesn't argue faith.
