Trump, as a former TV star, understood and took advantage that the power of personality and easy answers to complex questions would appeal to people who are used to hour long TV shows.

You could shout this to the sky, and Trumpers won’t hear you you or agree. They are the intended audience of the orange Pied Piper, and all they can hear is his yapping as the unvarnished truth.

In some respects, it has actually been beneficial to see a validation of my opinion that so many of the rabid Trump supporters voted for him...because they basically hated Hillary more than they love this country.

While on one hand it's a real downer to watch how many Un-American citizens we have in this great nation (and especially in TV) throwing off any pretense on whether country or political party is more important to them...at least there is no longer a question as to where their true loyalty lies.

While I don't agree with a lot of the political positions McCain, Corker, Flake, Bush, Etc., Etc. have...I do admire their personal integrity.

Particularly since our national integrity...is under direct assault by Trump and his cultists.

What we are going through right now is not unlike the McCarthy era (albeit 100 times worse), whereby strong and ethical individuals stood by for such a long period...and became lemmings lest they 'buck' the establishment.

The really ironic part of course, is that Trump thinks he's the one trying to "drain the swamp/establishment," when in fact...he and his cultists are actually digging a much larger/deeper/darker/uglier swamp.
