I agree with Bucco's posting about 98%. The tiny percentage left over showed when Dick Cheney spoke at Savannah Center and when Fox & Friends were doing their show at Lake Sumter Landing. However, I have NO problem with that at all.

We all know of the Morse political leaning but it has no impact on our enjoyment of The Villages.

You forgot the time last year that members of the democratic club were physically removed by the Sumter County Sheriff when they showed up for Gov Rick Scott's budget signing at Lake Sumter Landing. Apparently, Scott doesn't want to be governor of all the people in the state of Florida. I can't think of another time or place that this has happened to people in this country in the 21st century.

Not a level playing field means slanted. What you are refering to is being out numbered. The Villages can't keep a running total of who lives here based on their poliitical views and only allow those needed to bring the quota to level to buy here.

Janmcn - That did not happen. I was there and members of the Democrat club were asked (not physically moved) by the sheriff's staff to move across the street to the public sidewalk instead of being on the private property. No one got touched by the sheriff's staff. We moved to the sidewalk and there was no problem.

Buggy, we often disagree, for the most part amicably. I am grateful that you stood up and debunked this oft repeated bogus claim. All of us need to do more to ensure that the postings here are true and not a recital of talking points or bogus claims.

A rather weird perspective on the simple fact that over 90% of Village residents happen to be Republican.

Lets see. They were politely asked to move to the other side of the street simply because of their political affiliation. With this new knowledge it's only slightly less damning. Thanks so much for righting this outrageous distortion that Democrats were asked to move rather than being forcibly removed. Can't say that I see how the concept isn't the same despite the non use of physical force. Has any Democratic Politician ever asked the Republicans in the Villages audience to move to the other side of the street?

I dont think what you say is true either but I was not there thus will leave it for the witnesses. The incident happened on PRIVATE property and the spectators were not just standing there with their hands in their pocket...not saying they were doing anything wrong but this thing keeps getting blown out of proportion as I see it.

That did happen either. If you looked at that YouTube video, you will see that there are white people exiting the polling place after voting. The incident took place at only one polling place and the two black men had night sticks and security badges. I did not see one person being run off. Please be truthful in your postings.

My post was only to correct the other one that stated the Democrats were physically removed by the Sheriff's staff.

I will leave it up to you and others to debate whether or not it was the right thing to do.

buggyone: Perhaps don't believe everything you se has merit here. However i saw a "youtube" vieo of this allegation and as i recollect they were panther members and they were threatening white people in order to ru them off. It did explain if they were totally successful or not and wouild explain white folks exiting the vote station. There is a tenet in law "res ipsa loquitor: the thing speaks for itself. The fact that two panthers are parked in front of a voting station pointing night sticks at white people tends to be self explanatory under this tenet

I would love NOTHING more than to stay away from politics!! I'd too like to enjoy the bubble and pretend nothing is wrong. Go about playing and ignore the crisis in our country. All of them are corrupt!! However, since is the MOST important election of our LIFETIME ...capitalism vs socialism it's VITAL we all get out and get involved instead of staying away!!! You either want Government to RULE you from cradle to grave or you believe in the FREEDOMS that made this country great!! I strongly disagree when you say STAY AWAY FROM POLITICS. Don't we have enough "idiots" in the country voting?? Didn't you see the HS kid on TV who when asked "who is your favorite founding father" replied "what is a founding father?" No it's NOT the time to stay away!! It's the time to talk, debate and get involved!!! It's now or never. America is at a critical turning point!! If you don't get involved you will have to answer to your grandchildren as to why you did NOTHING when you could have saved this country from going down the wrong path. You can still play your golf, do your activities, etc... all day but when the nights roll around get off the sofa, get to some INFORMED MEETINGS AND Save this country !!

How far can posts stray from the original topic before someone cries foul?
