Kind of a harsh statement but I am sure the big tent would welcome you. You are so nice.

I thought Baldwin took a plane overseas and never came back after George Bush won the Presidential Election.

Well I'll leave you worldly men and women to discuss the intricacies of the world. Going golfing.

Richie, I am impressed than a New Jersey-ite knows the word "barista" and how to use it in a sentence.

Never cared for the taste of Starbuck's coffee. Also at Panera, you can get unlimited refills for no extra cost. I will trade liberal discussion for cheap coffee anyday.

Sorry to hear that. If you are looking for the cause, go back and read some of your posts. That might help you in the future.

the snide remark mode and snipping ....pre school yard quality parrying at best.

Never has anything to do with the subject or issue at hand....as usual.

Is it really necessary that our local paper's headlines for THREE days is about Fox news coming? I have no interest in seeing them since I don't listen to them, but do they think we are so old and memory impaired as to not remember what they had written for the past 5 days? There really are more important things to lead with....

In the larger world picture, you're probably justified in your puzzlement about the amount of coverage. But if you just keep it to The Villages, this is an really exciting event, and one in which The Villages is heavily invested in having come off without a hitch, and one which will shine a light on The Villages in a way that has been unprecedented.

(I, myself, am a little wary of that in the same way I dread telling people about a great little restaurant I've found, as I'd like to always find a table when I go.)

It's a spotlight moment. Check your hair and makeup.

Man, the whining never stops around here. It is like crickets in the background. Nobody really listens to it.

The local paper is not just for people who already live here. On any given day of the week, hundreds of people are starting or finishing a lifestyle preview stay, or wannabe's are coming into a rental, or people who are moving into their home they just bought are seeing the headlines of the Sun on the newstands. Also, many of these people listed above do not have a newspaper subscription, and would only be buying single copies here and there as a newcomer. It might seem like overkill to residents, to have the headlines the same for 3 days, but not necessarily so for newcomers.

Good answer!! I don't consider all of the repeated headlines, etc a big deal. I scan the articles or skip them. As said, this is a big deal to the Villages. We are one of 15 places that FOX is going to visit. We even made the Orlando Sentinel - both in the main paper and the Lake County section.

I don't watch Fox news (or any other news station), but if I remember tomorrow I might tune in to see all of the Villagers attendng the show.

in all of the issues of the daily sun that i have read i always got the feeling that the paper serves the interests of the developer - with a few articles taken from the ap wires thrown in. and that's not a bad thing for me. always knew that if i wanted a 'real' newspaper i could buy one!

the issue is as stated above...TV is one of 15 cities in the USA to be chosen...the developer has bragging rights on a scale we would all like to have.

AND it is so easy to just turn the page if it is repetative or not of interest....really!
