Talt,
Yep, there is always spin on both sides! In college I was on a debate team and could always go either way on a question ( as it is part of the game to pick your side just before the debate by picking a paper out of a hat!!)

Steve, you make some very good points about historical events during Democratic presidencies. It's really funny how none of that ever comes out in the mainstream news. However true the statements and facts are, you have to remember that when arguing politics, if you hit your opponent with facts and logic they lose the urge to chit chat. I too have history and philosophy minors which kind of prepare you for these interesting times we live in. Keep up the good fight, your posts are great.

Isn't a "Great Obama Web Site" an oxymoron?

No, George W. Bush is an oxymoron. Or should I say just a moron.

The key is keeping a sense of humor. You learn that living in Copperas Cove....

The majority of my family are Amish/Mennonite. I am NOT.

I continue to associate with my Amish/Mennonite relatives. Do I agree with their beliefs or lifestyle? NO! However, they are family regardless and I refuse to disown them just because they have a different way of life.

I retain my birth name although I could have changed it at anytime. Why would I choose to keep Verla Rene? Because it was given to me and I respect my parents choice whether I like it or not.

I hope no one associates me with one of my ministers. Although I disagreed with his liberal extremism of referring to God as a "she" and altering the Lord's Prayer to include "her", I didn't leave the church because of the friendships I had made and the fellowship of other members. In fact, I am still a member today although I haven't stepped foot in that church for over 20 years...because we moved too far away.

My grandson's middle name is Che...is that extreme enough for you? I adore him and would never judge him by a name his parents gave him.

So...are you going to judge me now?

Bright, the simple answer is if you were running for office, many here would indeed judge you and you would fail miserably.

Senator Obama's history sure had very different cherries picked depending on what party the story teller seems to be supporting. Same with John McCain's background.
Really, SteveZ can quote 'history' as much as he wants, but its all about the spin. I can't believe people in this forum are still discussing Obama's middle name, and his non association with Islam, yawn. Personally, I'm looking forward to the debates with McCain. I have a feeling McCain will be underwhelming.

I agree. On the day McCain started offering the Town Hall meetings his crowd was 300 as opposed to Obama's 17,000 in the stadium and another 15,000 outside. Of course McCain wants to pool his resources with Obama. The McCain campaign is hurting for money. Many of think that Obama should not play into these townhall "talks" as McCain needs them way more than Obama does. McCain loves to ride coattails. Afterall, he's been doing it all his life via his grandfather and father. Bring on the debates, McCain being "Underwhelming" is putting it mildly.

Personally, I don't care how the campaign managers set the stage. The REAL audience is at the other end of the television links. Those at the theater/stadium/outhouse just are there for applause generation.
