Why does this post come up on my screen with the name Ch????? Is that the author? I purposely shortened it. The other posts say Guest. Isn't this an anonymous board for everyone?

Amazing! The pledge of allegiance to the American flag by schoolkids is really just a rote exercise and has no meaning to them. Also, if foreign students are in that class, why would they be forced to pledge allegiance to a foreign flag? Basically, it is a worthless exercise for kids. I have never heard of an "international flag pledge".

Regarding the white men are evil diatribe. Look at the Spanish conquistidores, the Western expansion of the USA called "Manifest Destiny", the imprisoning of Japanese US citizens during WWII just to name a few. Lots of evil things have happened but schools also teach what achievements have occurred.

No, hetrosexual behavior is not evil but what is evil is the intolerance toward the LBGT community by hetrosexuals. They deserve ALL the human dignity and civil rights as hetrosexuals.

Finally, white privilege does not exist ANYMORE. You obviously have never gotten over the fact that a Black man is the leader of the USA and was elected to office TWICE! The next leader will be a woman. This is the 21st century. Deal with it![/QUOTE]

Typical liberal without morals, ethics or decency. There is no use addressing all of that diatribe of nothing but garbage. I feel sorry for your pathetic @ss.

Really? Even the Pew Institute is not considered an unbiased source? Can you back that up?

Racism and homophobia were invented. By nature we are neither racists or homophobic. That's a something to think about. I'd like to believe it's true. Why can't it be true?

A Republican friend threw this by me today. Does this have wings?

Obama doesn't like Hillary, and doesn't want Sanders as the Democratic nominee. So, he will not stop the legal charges that will be brought against Hillary. The super delegates will vote for Joe Biden in the first round. This will ensure that Hillary doesn't have enough delegates in the first round. This will cause a brokered convention. Since legal action will turn off most of the delegates Hillary won in the primaries, they will vote for Biden in the second round, and he will have enough delegates to be the Democratic nominee.

This might have been the plan along. Biden didn't have the people in place to run a winnable campaign. This is a way that he, and Obama got around it. He get the nomination without the fight.

Any chance we can start over and get some real, decent candidates? I thought not but I can dream, right?

So, like you Republicans today, I'll grit my teeth the next four to eight years, pray mightily that the harm done by whomever is in office won't be too great and pray even harder that our next choices will be someone who deserves the position of POTUS. (The big difference is I won't denigrate whomever is elected but I might whine a lot to myself.)

Who ever you are we are singing from the same page from hymnal. It reminds off hen I travelled to Germany during the OJ trial and felt I had to apologized for America.

We all know there is a plan 'B'. The powers that be will allow mz. above the law to risk the WH so far.

The other long shot is Bernie blows her away.

She will not be on the democratic ballot in the election.

NOBODY LIKES HER!

Thank you, Red, for the thoughtful post. It really caught my attention because earlier today I was thinking abut this very subject brought up by the OP, and I thought surely there are intelligent folks on the opposite side of the aisle who feel the same way I do about the candidates in general. I know this to be true because my liberal, feminist aunt who would love to see a woman President will also not vote for Hillary and is disgusted by the process and what is going on. And then i read your post. As discouraged as I feel that what we have to choose from is less than desirable, I'm encouraged by the fact that there are some (maybe many) from both parties who could actually be in agreement with one another where politics is concerned regarding lack of quality candidates on both sides. Now if there was only something we could do other than chose from the lesser of 2 evils. Really getting tired of that scenario.

Have you ever listened to a Bernie speech? You won't see anyone dragged out of the room. Bernie's net worth is $520k. Maybe that makes him a looser in some people's eyes. He's 74. And while I'm younger and playing golf down here, he's trying to make a better future for my grandchildren. I'm not worried about getting my head chopped off or being robbed by a Latino but I am worried about the issues he addresses. The least I can do is post a link hoping someone has the time to at least listen to his speech.

I'm expecting the hate posts to follow. That's OK. Bring it on.

I'm not a Bernie supporter at all (his complaints and analysis are mostly correct, but it's his solutions are marxist-leninist....state controlled everything). But at least Bernie is authentic and not always working on covering up lies like that crooked, lying woman.

That said, I was all for Bernie when Black Lives Matter took over his microphone and drove him off the stage his campaign had organized and probably paid to rent the venue. I felt he should have stood up to them and talked about how "diversity" includes listening to diverse opinions.

When different opinions are no longer allowed to be heard in this country, we are slouching toward some kind of awful police state in which speech is censored, silenced and re-mixed/released in twisted tidbits by the media.

Sadly, the ones who claim to be so "liberal" and "accepting of others" and "open-minded" are the same ones shutting down Trump's rally of 25,000 in Chicago right now.

If you want freedom of speech for yourself or Bernie, you should allow freedom of speech for opposition, too. This is a really bad trend for our nation. Meanwhile, Obama and Clintons are loving every minute of this Alinsky-styled "Rules for Radicals" chaos and division.

And to the o.p., a search for the "perfect, pure" candidate is not going to happen. Since you're not for the current administration, you'd do well to vote against a third term of it named Hillary Clinton.
