I have to think Trump only resonates with the right wing fringe. If I thought otherwise, I'd lose faith in America and its citizens.

One mantra about Trump is this: We are usually in agreement with most of what he says but wish someone else was saying it.

I lost faith in Americans when Obama was elected for the second term. I couldn't believe that there were that many ignorant people in America. But, as we know, as faith in the Creator ebbs so goes the country.

Enjoy your new country with your Creator. I'll stay here with the rest of Americans, ignorant or smart.

Don't worry, no one is going to accuse you of being smart.

After the Iran hostage crisis, President Carter froze Muslim immigration and ordered all Muslim students to report to immigration. 15,000 were ejected from the U.S. The courts upheld this decision and stated that the president had the authority handle the situation in this manner.

If Trump is considered "hateful" by suggesting the same thing, then Carter was a "hateful" person also. Too bad Bush didn't do this after 9/11. Maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation now.

Let me make just one correction on what I wrote above. Carter froze all IRANIAN Muslim immigration. FDR also did the same with Japan and Germany.

We have several influences of the current day thinking and actions or lack of actions.

We have become a permissive society that easily succumbs to ANY whim presented by a special interest group or a specific political group, religious movement, et al. These groups usually have an agenda that is inconsistent with the majority and bent on allowances that defy the common sense or wants of the majority.

In addition we have a president and WH full of advisors that are racially, islamic sympathetic.

Carter didn't freeze immigration, he froze Iran government assets to place pressure on Iran. He did place tighter restrictions on visas for Iranians but Iranians were still able to come in. He did order the investigation of visa status of Iranian students, and expelled those whose visas were out of legal status. Those with legal visa status stayed in the U.S. I would hardly call that hateful. Trump is calling for a complete ban on Muslims coming into the United States. He doesn't get that our enemy is radical islam, not Muslims in general. His comments just show his complete ignorance of world affairs.

Sure, whatever you say. Trump said he wanted a temporary ban. But, leave it up to liberals to blow it out of proportion. Liberals are the last to volunteer to serve or fight for our country and the first in line to complain about how it is done.

I think they should ban ALL incoming visas from the middle east and tell their countries that we will resume diplomatic services with them once they clean up their act. Tell them that we will not allow them access to our country unless they prove that there will be no more radical trying to "kill the infidels." Too bad there are some innocents that get hurt. That's their fault for not doing anything about it. Collateral damage. Our Freedom is Free for our citizens, not foreign invaders. They can do the same thing to their countries, if they want freedom. We don't want cowards that run away from their own countries to come over here and try to change our lifestyle.

IF that is not good enough, then bomb their oil wells so they can't finance jihad against us. Let them be desert wandering nomads again. Without oil, they have nothing.

Better to punish them in their land than to allow them to come here under the endorsement of liberals, so they can ruin our lives.

I see Trump is not ruling out a third party run! How exciting, that would really guarantee a Democratic President. Keeping my fingers crossed…...

When I was young, it was communists instead of Muslims.
It was hippies instead of extremists.

Most telling was that back in the good ole days it was old white men spewing the hatred.

Now of course, it's still old white men.
