Perhaps you are correct? However another possibility is that racism has always existed it's just that it was labeled something else such as tribalism? Indeed some it may have been for defense of their village but the notion that you are different then me and hence I do not trust you sets the framework for racism

Look at the Supreme Court decision of Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) and you see the phrase of "separate but equal" in determining that separate facilities were fine and not discriminating.

However, that was overturned in 1954 with Brown v. Board of Education that separate facilities did in fact discriminate against a group of people.

So, the answer to your question is YES. What do you say and back up your reply with fact please.
