The proposed tax cuts for the affluent are so large — trillions of dollars over the coming decade, that they would cause the deficit to soar. Wealthy households would benefit from individual rate cuts, repeal of both the alternative minimum tax and the estate tax, as well as tax cuts for corporations and “pass-through” businesses (such as sole proprietorships and partnerships). This last provision would shower huge benefits on Trump’s family. “My plan is for the working people,” President Trump said yesterday. “I don’t benefit.” None of that is true. It’s the latest disturbing example of politicians telling falsehoods about a proposed policy. Trump has done so repeatedly, and now members of Congress are doing it more often, too. These aren’t mere exaggerations or truth shadings; they are often just lies.

As a long time active participant in the Republican party, and who has since left that party, I can say.......

NOBODY is upset about an election, but are upset about what the results of such election have brought us.

If you think that only liberals are upset you are not paying attention to our health care crisis, our budget crisis, our foreign policy (not military) in shambles, and the creation (purposedly) of national divide on culture.

If mocking people within the halls of our White House, especially true war heros, is in any way acceptable, then we know a different America.

You have made a statement, but have not given any facts to support your claim. I am interested in this issue, so maybe you can expand on your statement?

For too long, ignorant preachers have taught their uneducated flocks that this country was built on the Judeo-Christian model. It wasn't. The settlers who built this country were running away from Christian brutality and wars in Europe, where Christians were burning other Christians at the stake, and, yes, beheading them. The founders of this country wanted none of that, so they put a Wall of Separation between church and state into the Constitution. (If you don't believe me, look up the Supreme Court decision of Everson vs. Board.) Our Constitution does not contain the words "God" or "Christianity".
The older white conservatives who cling to the idea that life was just wonderful in the 1950s and want to return, ignore that in the lack of 24/7 media coverage, a lot of what is going on now was also going on then, you just didn't hear about it. Conservative media today wants their people to be afraid of everything-Mexicans, Muslims, liberals, Democrats, immigrants, and they will lie and exaggerate to keep that fear alive. Fox News blasts every black crime, but rarely do they grudgingly admit that a white might have committed an atrocity. Nevertheless if you really dig into facts, most crimes and most terrorist acts in this country have been committed by white males. We shoot 93 other Americans every single day.
The post which started this thread is full of such lies and propaganda, which no doubt was promoted by Limbaugh, Jones, Savage, Fox, or some other outlet which thanks to the freedom guaranteed by our Constitution, can spew nonsense. The pity is that so many willing listeners buy into that crap.

What a load of manipulative c*nty crap.

Oh honey I'm so disappointed in you...

If you go back and look at government stats and charts, you will see that when taxes were cut, tax revenues from a booming economy increased. You will see that when you raised taxes, revenues did increase but the economy stagnated and did not flourish. So many non-believers insist that tax breaks and the "trickle down" effect are myths, but do not even know what they are talking about. They insist that by cutting individual tax rates, that no one is going to make more money and pay more taxes. The point is that more jobs are created by cutting taxes because there is more money to invest. I keep hearing NON-business peons insist that rich people hoard their money and do not invest it That if they do not pay more taxes, they will lock their money away and not invest it. That is just plain stupid. Rich do not get rich by hoarding their money. Check out the difference in tax rates to GDP growth in the past century and you will discover that yes, increased tax rates increased tax revenues. But, the economy did not grow. Then look at the economy when tax rates were cut and you will also see a growth in the economy which lent also to tax revenue growth. You can sit back and deny it but facts are there for you.

If you allow idiots that crave power like Schumer and Pelosi to deceive you into thinking that cutting taxes only benefit the rich, then you deserve your socialist dependency on the government. But, before you accept socialism as your great benefactor, try living in a socialist system overseas and see how the so-called middle class lives. We live better right now than ALL of them. You want the gov to be your nanny, your financial handler? Fine, the cost is half your salary in payroll deductions. The rich does not suffer, you do. In socialist systems, the rich are still the elite but the middle class becomes an upper lower class lifestyle. Yep, the lower class survives. Just like rats and roaches in the inner cities. You will always have those that do not wish to be motivated to better themselves.

If you think that cutting taxes only benefits the wealthy, then you have been conned by those wishing power over you. Quit worrying about what someone else is getting when it does not effect you. Why should the wealthy be discriminated upon by penalizing them for being successful? Does the idea of "fair treatment" only pertain to lower and middle class? Or does it pertain to ALL Americans?
