No, I honestly can say that no one can blame Pres Obama for all that is wrong in the US! Alot of this has been brewing for a long time. But he was to bring Hope and Change, not allow things to go from bad to worse. In my opinion, he is as dumb as a fox. I always learned that you have two choices...be part of the problem OR be part of the solution. What was going on when Obama took office, was not his fault, but he certainly has not been part of any working solutions either...therefore, with the powerful position that he now holds, he is now part of the problem.

Katz I am in partial agreement with you that Obama is part of the problem,I dont think he has been strong enough in standing up to Republicans who have ,because of the Senate filibuster rules that force 60 votes to pass a bill,obstructed just about all of his programs all the time and all of them all the time. I wish he would tell McConnell and Boehner to go toH....!

He sure had no problem shoving his healthcare bill down the throats of the American people, in spite of the fact that the people were overwhelmingly against it (as evidenced by numerous polls)...

He even backed down then and let the Repubs gut the original.

some one please remind me all the things that were passed by congress to make things better in America during the first two years of Obama's term.....WHEN THE DEMOCRATS HAD CONTROL OF BOTH HOUSES!!!!! I fear too many readily forget the republicans gained control of the House ONLY 12 months ago (out the 36 month Obama tenure!!).

All the smoke and BS about what the dems can't get done is just that....smoke and BS....tunes for the Pied Piper's following.

Private Corporations shouldn't be singled out for tax cuts. Industry in general should. It's unworkable to say "how many jobs will you create?". A corporation may not be able to come up with the number due to many factors; their present business health, their ability to quickly expand, their access to qualified employees, etc. Tax breaks have to be across the board and business will fill whatever vacuum is created.

Subsidies are another matter and should be scarce. Only for pressing public need (not demand) should subsidies to private interests be considered, including the endless subsidies to colleges in their endless studies of who knows what to benefit who knows who.

Richie, I am glad to see you are against all farm subsidies. I agree.

I do agree with ending of farm subsidies, unless it's for a vital food resource that cannot be otherwise acquired within our nation's borders. All subsidies for the non-growing of product should be eliminated.

I wonder if any of the Republican candidates spoke of being in favor of ending the corn/ethanol subsidies while they were campaigning in Iowa?

I suspect we agree on much more than might be expected.
